Not that well known athlete, but former president of Polish NOC Andrzej Kraśnicki has died today at age of 75 after long battle with disease. 

 

In the years 2010-2023 he was the President of the Polish Olympic Committee, a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC), one of six European representatives on the Executive Council of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), a member of the Foundation Council of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and the President of the Polish Olympic Foundation. In past he was also president of Polish Handball federation.

Sad news.

 

Iris Cummins, the American swimmer who was the final survivor of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, died over the weekend. She was 104 years old.

:RUS Evgenia Shishkova & Vadim Naumov (1994 World Champions in pairs) very likely were killed in the American Airlines collision with US Army helicopter in Washington last night.

Rescuers are no longer expecting to find any survivors, so this is all but confirmed now :(

American coaches and skaters  Spencer Lane, Jinna Han, Franco Aparicio, Everly and Lydia Livingston, Sean Kay, Angela Yang, and Eddie Zhou are also believed to have died in the crash
