Mkbw50 438 Posted August 2, 2021 #164 Share Posted August 2, 2021 That 'unfair advantage' made so much difference maybe the self-proclaimed biology experts will shut up now but I doubt it thiago_simoes 1 As now we come across the world To share these Games of old Let all the flags of every land In brotherhood unfold

I'm sure most people here will be overjoyed, but I'm actually heartbroken. I never wished her to win a medal, but I wanted her to have a good performance and keep her chin up. Of course she must have been through lots of verbal abuse to get to this point, and this makes one's mind crumble. Transgender people are attacked on a daily basis and their very existence is always threatened. Being a transgender athlete competing at the Olympics for the first time and receiving so much backlash of course must have had a big impact on her mental toughness. NearPup 3,045 Posted August 2, 2021 #168 Share Posted August 2, 2021 Whatever you think about the rules, Hubbard did nothing wrong. She followed all the rules as they exist. If you disagree with those rules your ire should not be towards her. Gianlu33, james89, heywoodu and 1 other 2

I saw her as a medal threat to so on that level I'm happy. On a deeper level, I wished her the best but tbh I didn't want her to win a medal either, because the usual suspects would have more fuel to add to the fire. I think the judging on her second attempt was a bit harsh, but I don't know weightlifting enough to say for sure As now we come across the world To share these Games of old Let all the flags of every land In brotherhood unfold
