Bloemen is not exactly shocking (neither would Bergsma or Kramer have been) If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! OlympicsFan 783 Posted February 15, 2018 #522 Share Posted February 15, 2018 The Netherlands saw that Germany was about to win the medal table, so they sent Bloemen to Canada to help them stopping Germany. orangeman 1,349 Posted February 15, 2018 #524 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Great result by the other Canadian, Belchos, too. Looks like Canadian speed skating is back on.......track! Canada4thewin
OlympicsFan 783 Posted February 15, 2018 #525 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Bloemen is already 31 years old, so this was probably his only chance for an olympic gold, good way to retire. Gonna be interesting to see which dutch athlete Canada will naturalize next. There must be some other dutch athlete who would be willing to switch nationality for not being able to make the dutch team. JoshMartini007 2,235 Posted February 15, 2018 #526 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Bloemen's father is Canadian so it wasn't like he randomly chose the country. Canada4thewin
