:GER Andrea Petkovic also announced her retirement after first round loss in US Open

Meanwhile it was last Grand Slam, but not last tournament yet, for :ITA Andreas Seppi who will retire at the end of the season.

Now I feel old, as those players who decided to retire in this year, were young or not too old when I started to watching tennis closely back 10 years ago :p

:GBRBadminton player Toby Penty has announced his retirement from the sport.

Whilst he probably didn't make the impact that he would have liked and he was unlikely to be challenging for a medal, his departure is likely to mean that Team GB will not qualify a quota in the Men's Singles event. This would be the first time since the sport was introduced in Barcelona that GB wont have participant in the Men's Singles.

Even though my man Nadal has won the most GS, I feel like Federer is the most legendary out of the big three. A true hero of the sport signing off.
