Let me guess, Russia will win gold, China silver and Ukraine bronze (Japan might sneak in there!) for both the duet and team.

This shouldn't be an Olympic event, not because it's not a sport but because the medals are decided before anyone hits the water.

And after the first round it's....SUSPENSE!

Russia, China, Ukraine with Japan in 4th.

Italy was clearly robbed in favor of Canada, imo.

It literally doesn't matter.  The placings were decided months, years, ago.  Just like every other Olympics in the last 20 years.  Like I said, this shouldn't be an Olympic event unless they start judging it based on the performance on the day.

I actually do, but I haven't watched in years since it's been decided in advance.  There is no movement on any podium.  It really doesn't matter.  I'll tune back in when performance on the day starts to matter.

So true.  I used to like this sport a lot, but not anymore.  Too biased.

^After two negative tests, Evangelia Platanioti has just arrived in Tokyo yesterday and will be competing in the duet event

Now three other team members have tested positive. Greece withdrawn from all artistic swimming events. I am heartbroken for our girls. I don't know if some of them will ever get the chance to make it to the Olympics again. 6 of our 9 girls are teenagers (and two of the other three competed at previous Games), but I don't know if we can qualify for the team again...we barely qualified this time and that was with Japan getting the host spot...

    • Yea I only used transit besides this Uber / bus to the airport and back. All the venues were at the end of the line, so it allowed you to speak with other fans/volunteers etc. I even met Corrine Stoddard's mom after the first session of short track on the way back, and told her to remember our conversation if she won a medal later in the Olympics. We know how that ended up...
    • I used public transit the entire time I was in Milan.   My first day was a doozy, because I had to two flights to reach Malpensa, and then the train into town was delayed, and then I got confused a station and boarded a tram instead of the metro, proceeded to travel in the wrong direction, got off, walked back to the station, found the metro, got off a station early, walked around a kilometer to my hotel, and checked in.   My colleagues mostly took cabs upon arrival, but I deduced to take the frugal approach. That said, I was a true public transit professional by the time I left Milan.   I actually enjoyed my rides to and from venues, because I'd just chat up fans and volunteers from different countries. It helped me learn more about the city too.
    • It's the olympics, sleep is for the weak!    The first day i got there i was on a 12 hour flight from l.a to rome (flight that left mid day), lay over, another flight to milan, uber to hotel, then right away to speed skating (1500m men), then after uber to hockey venue for women's gold final, then after the celebrations uber to the hotel, i ended up being awake about 36 hours that day, the next morning i thought to go sightseeing in the center of milan, but ended up sleeping until like 2pm..... and had speed skating/short track that night
    • I tried to get onto the metro multiple times and gave up    I had just arrived the day of from Bangkok (12 hr flight) and was just exhausted and wanted to sleep
    • Plus, you missed out on a potential metro ride with me, which is quite priceless in my opinion
    • My hotel was very close to Rho so was easy to get there, but it was so far from the hockey venue that after the women's gold medal match it was so expensive to get back, and also the next day after the usa slovakia semis it took forever, the asshole driver took the city and not the freeway
    • Uber cost me $224 CAD to get back to the hotel from the OC. It basically prevented me from buying tickets to a speed skating session
    • Romania's national team coach, Mircea Lucescu, has died half an hour ago He was in hospital since March 30th, just before the friendly match against Slovakia. Unbelievable how the life can have such turns...in March 26th he was in Istanbul playing the WC qualifying play-off vs Turkiye and now he died.    Thank you very much for every moments you bring us in your huge career (he's on 3rd place in a most trophies won in career, after Ferguson and Guardiola) and may your soul rest in peace, Mr. Lucescu.
