I wonder if the fact a lot of weightlifting medals were won by powerful nations will help save it for 2024. China in particular has little strength in most new events or sports and removing weightlifting will likely secure the USA at the top for Paris let alone LA which I doubt they will be in a hurry to support.

Also Boxing avoided any major judging controversies of the like seen in previous games which surely helps its survival chances

Remove cycling with it's bajillion events, everyone can ride a bicycle. Meanwhile add something exciting like the monster truck racing in america.

The world games is like a catalog for sporting events, there plenty of good ones to take from their, and not events like “Olympic games of musical chairs “ and stuff like that, that some in the IOC think the younger likes

Also in favour of removing athletics, everyone can run, jump or throw different kinds of stuff.

Right, so you'll want baseball or something, which is more known for fat guys eating hot dogs on the stands than for anything else really. Because you might have trouble with competitive eating if you want to see fat guys eating hot dogs

If I am not wrong the Kiteboarding event will not be mixed anymore... it will have events for men and women
