Ok, i dont remember saying that and i dont agree. Macedonia isnt really a strong team and non-european teams like Argentina, Tunisia, Egypt or Qatar can beat them any time. In my opinion Hungary and Russia are stronger, but Macedonia qualified, so there is nothing really to argue about. Iceland is very "up and down", so its difficult to say if they wouldve done better than Macedonia here.

if Spain beat Sweden by 2 goals, then both teams will have a GD of -1. let's say Spain beat Sweden X to X-2. then:

 

SLO +2 GD

SWE -1 GD / Goals 22+X

ESP -1 GD / Goals 21+X

 

SWE advances virtue of scoring more goals.

no team in football are you serious !! they have been many times in the final / semi world cup /euro and these players legends : Vanbasten, koeman, Gulit ...Cruyff

and in women's  water polo  they won the silver in the WC

just look at the table of medals   they are always one of the best

He means we have no teams in water polo, rugby and football (and basketball) at the next Olympics  

 

Apart from that, I must agree that we are definitely not the strongest country overall in Europe...maybe we are top-10, but no way we are first  

 

But alright, this thread is about handball and at least there we do have a team in Rio

I was talking about qualified teams for Rio, i thought thats what we are talking about here ...

Netherlands also didnt qualify for european championships in football this year, they arent very strong anymore and you cant compare their current team to the team they had about 40 years ago. Its almost like saying that Hungary is very strong in football, with players like Puskas, Kocsis, Bozsik, Hidegkuti, Grosics, Czibor or Lorant.
