In oneway i understand, the practical way, but not moraly, bescause if you say onesthat you are brittish citiuzen you suddently become irish, becausethen you useacitizenchip to get faors. It is not may eay to act.

It's a complex matter and everyone will have a different opinion about it. On one hand, I would like all nations and territories to have the same kind of treatment from the IOC, but on the other hand it's important to be sensible and avoid unnecessary conflicts given the recent history in the region, so it's best to just let it slide and think about other things.

Added to which we're talking about a very small group of athletes.

But it’s not special treatment from the IOC really. If someone is a citizen of, say, Brazil or Netherlands or Malta or whoever they can represent them

That’s how it works for Ireland and GB. The people of Northern Ireland are entitled to citizenship of both and that’s that really.

It’s nothing new

There is really not much the IOC can do about it anyway. It isn’t an IOC rule that people born in NI are eligible for both British and Irish citizenships.

It was new to me, andrgen The f4ree state behae like Wrst Germany did to EastGermany, deniel of a citizenchip.

But it’s also like Hackimi or Ziyech in football,  both born In other countries and have family and eligibility to represent Morocco and they did so, A lot of athletes have the option to choose who to represent  and this is no different

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
