RTVE announced on Monday that Spanish selection is going to be between the contestants of the show 'Operación Triunfo', a singing competition/reality show airing now that has 16 youngsters living in an academy learning music and can be followed 24H live in youtube.

This same format was used before, to chose the spanish representative in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

So, basically, one of this guys is going to sing in Lisbon

Most probably the girl in red, the girl in blue and the guy with the white shirt and black jacked, since they are the favorites.

Nina Zilli and Giovanni Caccamo are among artists which will compete in Sanremo 2018 :hearts::woohoo::wub:

I think that they'll never won Sanremo but I see a lot of surprise in this music contest.

Very interesting line-up this year, Baglioni has decided to have a lot of ex-winner.

I love Elio e le Storie Tese and i'm very curious to listening the song of the inedit duo Moro/Ermal Meta and the new song of Gazzè. It will be an hard battle.. I can't wait to listening the song.. February will be very hard for me, Olympics Games and Sanremo the same week :p

Eurovision presenters were just announced for Lisbon 2018!

Four women, three of them were already expected (the usual Portuguese Eurovision presenters) and the 4th one is none other than NCIS - Los Angeles main star, Daniela Ruah.

Had a three hour rehearsal today, everything is starting to look pretty well, apart from me being very sick + voice issues. Anyways, I'm very anxious, but hopeful at the same time, I really want to make it to the second round :d

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
