Biathlon at the Winter Olympic Games 2018

Finally, the time has come. I am so proud. Well done, Jakov. :champion:

This morning when it was told to be a lot more warmer, I knew good result must come. As you biathlon fans probably know, Fak had almost lost his fingerfew years ago in a blistering cold, that is why my hopes were to come a little more warm in Korea. And Jakov almost never dissapoints in these kind of situtations.

Also, big congrats to others: Bauer in top 15, Poje with a massive PB (never in top 40, today 12.), Eržen amazing till final shooting, I can't wait for Men's Mass Start and Mixed Relay.

Ohh I thought Sweden was chanceless in biathlon. But now we have 1 gold and 1 silver. I'm very surprised but also very happy. Congrats Hanna for your amazing race today.

So, a streak of Croatians winning medals at Winter Olympics continues...

I wonder if there was ever an Olympic biathlon race where the bottom 3 came from the same nation.:facepalm::facepalm:

Especially a nation that's really not half-bad....sure, they're not your average top-25 contenders normally, but they're definitely not the kind of athletes who should finish dead-last...

I glanced over the provisional mass start start list for the women, one interesting thing that I saw is how Cadurisch, Haecki and Elisa Gasparin qualified, but the most experienced Selina Gasparin didn't make it and had a poor Olympics overall.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.

    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
