:JPN AKB48 - Heavy Rotation

This is the complete opposite of the Chinese song I put here. I found about this band through some japanese work colleagues of a project I work a few years ago, and those japaneses were totally addicted to this very strange band. For what I know, it's a band made with more than 80 members, all girls, and it's a huge success there in Japan (just look at the views on this video!!! :yikes:).

Not my style of music, but I think it's something totally different and worth of sharing on a music festival! :d

Oh no.. AKB 48...

In Indonesia there is a "licensed group" called JKT 48, singing songs from AKB 48 in Indonesian. A few members of AKB 48 also feature in JKT 48 for some time (think about university student exchange :p ).

ลูกอม (Look Aum) / Hard Candy

Cover Version by Preechaya Pongthananikorn (Originally sung by Whatcharawalee)

Spoiler

Lyrics in English:

(**)I’ll have only you, I’ll love only you
I’ll embrace you with love, love that’s concerned
The heart I give to you is yours, do you know?
Every word that comes out comes from the heart

During the night the sky is full of lights
We embraced each other and looked up at the distant sky
To the end of my heart, to the end of my vision, there’s only us

The moon floats by and bestows love upon us
I thank you today for looking after and loving me,

from my heart, from now on, I have only you

(*) I don’t know where the stars will disappear to tomorrow
I don’t know how the sky will be tomorrow
But I know my heart

(**)I’ll have only you, I’ll love only you
I’ll embrace you with love, love that’s concerned
The heart I give to you is yours, do you know?
Every word that comes out comes from the heart

(***)We’ll float through the sky in the middle of the constellations
We won’t have loneliness intruding on us
This song is for you, it’s yours, do you know?
I promise I’ll take care of you from now on, forever

Though there are sometimes that I make you sad
But every time you’re ready to look past it
You understand and forgive a guy like me

(*,**,***)

Even if the world is destroyed and disappears from sight
Even if the stars in the sky fade away
My heart that I give you is yours, do you know?
Every word that comes out comes from the heart

(***)

:KOR SOUTH KOREA :KOR

산다는 건 (Sandaneun geon) - Cheer Up*

Hong Jin-young

It included English subtitles, so I don't need to post the translation here :d

* The Korean title actually translates to "To live is..." - an unfinished sentence. The English title summarized the song

Hong Jin-young is a Korean Trot singer. Trot is a form of Korean pop but with distinct traditional twist in it.

These two songs are my "bedtime songs". I listened to these songs before I sleep :p (together with the Japanese song I planned to post)

I (and all my project's Portuguese team) had no idea of this band, and we were really surprised that those Japanese colleagues of us (>30 years old) were so addicted to such a weird music group. But it's weird in a very funny (and Japanese) way haha :lol:

Marijata was a Ghanaian band, with the three members:

Kofi "Electric" Addison - Guitar
Bob Fischian - Organ
Nat Osmanu - Guitar

Marijata was a group of three members, Addison 'Electric' Kofi on guitar, Bob Fischian on the organ and Nat Osmanu also on guitar. Marijata were, according to their notes pockets, "attempting to bring some freshness and the return of Raw Funk" in their recordings. Their first LP: "This is Marijata", on the Gapophone label, is pure Funk Rawest Africa. Gapophone Records was a label founded by a young producer, Mr. George Appiah Prah, after his return from London where he lived for a period. Marijata has to his credit only two LPs on Gapophone but so essentialfor any collector of vinyl Afro Funk.

Enjoy this wonderful jazzy funk piece from west Africa
