Canada pulled all of their IBU Cup athletes home.  There is lots of speculation that a travel ban to Canada will be forthcoming.  No word if the WC athletes are going to be pulled home as well.

Canada will now wait until the end of the OEC then pull the IBU Cup athletes home.

Norway has closed its borders to all international travel.  If this continues, the last IBC WC event is in trouble.

On a positive note - "The organizers of the Pokljuka Biathlon World Cup said on Wednesday they were working on having at least some spectators present at the competition despite the epidemic. They would like to invite immunized health workers to Pokljuka to have at least a few people cheer for the athletes and to show appreciation for their Covid-19 efforts."

Cool to see Soldier Hollow and Canmore on it again...not very cool to have the World Cup finals there, unless something mad happens and all of a sudden the atmosphere will be Oslo-like (which I doubt).

Lenzerheide though :cheer:

all Wintersport World Cup events scheduled for the next weeks in Norway have been cancelled, from Alpine to Cross-Country Skiing, from Ski-Jumping to Nordic Combined...

and even if there's not official news yet, also Biathlon will be axed soon...

hopefully, a few of them will be rescheduled elsewhere, but I fear many others won't...

These people seriously need Russia on the calendar. Grow up children.

We can go to Nemenčinė in Lithuania, there are a lot of people speaking Russian there, but we can't promise that we'll have 30 functional shooting lanes and snow.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
