Assuming Russian teams and groups stay banned and nothing changes, they’re looking like the clear favourite for Olympic gold at the moment.

 with a very disappointing 185.5846, currently sitting in 10th, but with four heavy hitters still to come it doesn’t look like they’ll qualify for the final

I think we don't need to assume at this point, Russia is banned in team events, there is no more qualification opportunities in artistic swimming and the IOC has been very clear there wouldn't be "make up" qualification opportunities for Russia.

 

So for the first time since 1996 we'll have Olympic gold medalists in artistic swimming who aren't from Russia or ROC.

Nice routine for the Italian, the Olympics quota is on the spot  We have to improve a bit in the final.
