Not sur if it counts, but both the FIFA and the FIBA Youtube channels have uploaded some "classics" recently:

FIFA for example uploaded Netherlands vs. Mexico (2014 world cup), France vs. Argentina (2018 world cup), Nigeria vs. Italy (1994 world cup), Portugal vs. Spain (2018 world cup), Brazil vs. Argentina (1990 world cup), France vs. Italy (2006 world cup), Netherlands vs. Brazil (2010 world cup), Brazil vs. France (1986 world cup), Spain vs. Netherlands (2014 world cup) and also the official movies for the 2014 and 2018 world cups.

FIBA uploaded USA vs. Serbia (2014 world cup), Spain vs. Slovenia (2017 eurobasket), Yugoslavia vs. Argentina (2002 world cup) and a "movie" about the history of the world cup.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

There are plans being made to restart baseball by basically creating a giant version of the spring training competition.  All teams would move to Arizona or Florida when they reopen, which might be soon. All the games would be played there, behind closed doors initially then with spectators later.  After that, play 100+ regular season games, then play-offs as usial..

We have reached a new peak of sports: marble racing with "Formula-E teams" and a Formula-E commentator, and it's edited by the Formula-E broadcaster.

Very apathetic crowd though, hate those corporate fat-cats making seats too expensive for real fans.  :wall:

Live football on YouTube!

Vitebsk v Dinamo Brest (not the one in France)

:BLR

Seemingly the first half of a double header with Bate Borisov & the mighty Torpedo (odd team name for a land-locked country) Zhodino up next.

I see that World Archery have taken inspiration from their indoor cousin, darts, and will be staging some live events,

Open to everyone who has a 70m-long back garden.  :toast:

    • awful... the track is as fast (slow) as in Hamar Meike Veen skated the same time in the 1500m and Serena Pergher did the same in the 500m I think by February it will be even faster
    • I like the concept of this Festival of Music! I will also share a couple of Christmas songs from Spain's TISC Open 2024 representative David Bisbal.   The first one 'Los peces en el río' (The fish in the river) is a flamenco/pop cover of a traditional villancico originated in the 1500s and the second one 'Todo es posible en Navidad' (All is possible in Christmas) was relased last year.   Los peces en el río   Todo es posible en Navidad   I hope you like them and have a wonderful holiday season!
    • you don't even have idea how it works   last week he was the best of the field and now he's in bad shape?   on Friday he was 24th despite 4 (4!!!!!) missed shots and Yesterday he suddenly went out of shape?   be serious!   he either just had bad skis or he got sick, like many other athletes (see Vittozzi)   the snow in LGB is usually shit, results are always heavily influenced by that and Italy is one of the teams that usually struggle a lot in that place   nothing new and nothing to be worried about
    • Don't look now but the Bears might actually win the division in Ben Johnson's first season as HC...
    • Festival of Music   For this year’s Festival of Music I thought I would change it up a bit. Since we are approaching the festive holiday season, I want you all to post some festive songs from your country. If you don’t celebrate Christmas then perhaps some other song that has a special place in your heart during an important celebration.     I’m going to start with a Christmas song from Ireland’s TISC Annual 2023 representatives Picture This.     Picture This - This Christmas
    • pair Danilova/Tsiba hasn't fulfilled the national criteria to participate in the Games but their skating federation has sent a request to the national olympic committee for an exception and to include them to the TeamNL. https://www.schaatsen.nl/nieuws/knsb-dient-verzoek-in-voor-olympisch-startbewijs-danilova-tsiba/
    • Juniors were there recently and the track was awful   Although that's not necessarily bad. Tracks don't all need to be fast, a slow track (like the horribly slow one in Poland) simply favors a different style of athletes. Training a lot there doesn't really give much extra advantage though, not like in sliding sports where of course as host country you make sure your athletes know every single meter a year before the Olympics.    And to get back on topic: speed skater Elisa Dul broke her tibia and fibula in a training fall yesterday and will obviously be out of the OQT and so the Olympics.
    • The PSL race in Davos was (yet another) insult to a beautiful discipline. The red course (which was actually yellow) had several holes and an exposed ice sheet, which made the athletes slide way too long, causing DNFs or massive time losses. The only positive note is that Caffont won despite racing on the more dangerous course in the final
