Thanks. I'm not sure what WS means with "suspended" so I will wait to add them in the list.

Statement from ISU on the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2020:

"...In view of the planned ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Seoul/South Korea on March 13-15, 2020, the ISU was especially monitoring the situation in the Seoul area. The ISU was informed through the Korea Skating Union that the competent authorities of the city of Seoul ordered the closing of the Mokdong Ice Rink and the cancellation of all planned competitions.

The ISU therefore is unable to hold the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships 2020 at the above-mentioned planned date...

Taking into account the uncertain world-wide development of the coronavirus, the limited and uncertain available time slots during the coming weeks and the logistical challenges of potential organizers and participating teams, a postponement and/or relocation of the Championships would be difficult to achieve. Nevertheless, a postponement and/or relocation of this Championships might be considered if the circumstances would allow so in due time. Before taking a final decision, the ISU will remain in close contact with the Korea Skating Union and ISU Members".

They can do it in the Netherlands. We don't test, so have no cases, plus the shorttrack infrastructure is here (and the interest is of no question, it'll be sold out in no-time).

Next year's World Championships will also be in Rotterdam. Not sure if the ISU wants to hold the biggest competition of the year in the same country twice in a row.

    • Suspect strongly that the Sultan of  is behind Global Wushu!     Another one is long distance & ultra triathlon.  There are literally millions being paid out in prize money to attract big name athletes from several sports, huge FTA TV coverage but seemingly no prospect of any profit.   And the classic is obstacle racing, which has effectively bought up the ownership of Modern Pentathlon.
    • apparently the Japanese organizers rejected OCA's nice request    now OCA is ordering them to do so in a not-so-nice language https://oca.asia/media/attachments/memberships_subcommittee/5/Decision_-_103rd_OCA_EB_Meeting_5ypY8y4.pdf   the last line is very interesting   I knew this for a while, for example that's why Jujjtsu is included in all of OCA events (despite being the worst sport to watch) but good to see OCA admit this. so with the corrupt OCA you can buy your way in. how much they paid the OCA officials for this ?   OK I know Qatar is financially supporting Padel (and UAE is paying everything for Jujitsu) but who is behind Teqball?  ! I don't think Thailand can do that.
