:ISR upsets :USA in women's epee!

Bad news for Canada, this likely means that the US won't be in the Top4 on the world ranking and will take the American quota.

I think they would never be in any case...

The Hungarian women's epee team throws away their Olympic chances against Ukraine...

What a disaster this day has been for Hungary in fencing. It's not looking good for our teams at all, I am only hopeful about men's sabre and men's epee.

And the disaster is complete. IF they get their shit together and take the 9th place, maybe the girls will still have a chance thanks to the ECh silver. But once again Hungarian fencing is collapsing in the qualification when it matters the most.

Women's epee QFs

:KOR v :UKR

:POL v :ISR

:ITA v :HKG

:FRA v :SUI

I would be surprised if the Top4 won't be :KOR  :POL  :ITA  :FRA

At the moment it looks really good for :KOR  :POL  :ITA  :FRA  :HKG  :USA  :EGY

If there won't be some big upset tomorrow, I would say that there's one open spot left, which either goes to China if Hong Kong is Top4, or more likely one of the other European teams (Ukraine, Switzerland, Israel, Hungary, Estonia are all in it to various degree)

    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
