The first 7 country in the olympic team pursuit ranking are well ahead of France and Belgium and are much more stronger, France actually is behind Belgium, but after this Euro they will close the gap, so it will be a battle in the next World Cup races and next World Championships to gain the 8th spot,Korea and Japan should be Dangerous too, but they have to improve their performances in the next months, it's quite easy to understand. SalamAkhi 285 Posted October 18, 2019 #64 Share Posted October 18, 2019 à l’instant, dodge a dit : The team pursuit rankings are here was 90 points behind When the results of these championships are taken into account, Belgium will be 30 points ahead. But Korea is still a factor since they will probably benefit from the weaker concurrence in the next Asian Championships and score more points. Nothing in Track Cycling qualification for the Olympics is easy! Einstein would be confused.
CCB 489 Posted October 18, 2019 #66 Share Posted October 18, 2019 According to Dutch media Netherlands will try to use one of the quotas in Men's Road Race (5) for an extra Track Sprinter at the OG, since for teamsprint only three athletes can be chosen (and Netherlands has 4 Track-athletes of world class). Hopefully this works out, because it's no option for me to leave Matthijs Büchli home ... (or Hoogland, or Lavreysen or Van den Berg).

One of those four would need 10 points in the UCI road world ranking as of 22 October to be entered in the road race and none of them has any points as of this week. It's more difficult than in past Olympics when Germany and France chose keirin specialist in road race, nowadays to take part in Olympic road race you must have somo minimum requirements, and I don't think a keirin specialist can have those requirements

Well, I really don't know, but the KNWU says they read the qualification documents carefully and thinks that a Track specialist can get a Road Race quota ... to be continued!
