But the way it's written they are including 2028 and 2032. Or else they are incorrect in that LA has hosted 3 times prior to 2028.

of course they are wrong...

however I was mainly joking about the uncertainty of our times, rather than firing the Red Cross (aka criticizing ITG) :p

  • 2 months later...

Will the current tensions with Bangladesh and Pakistan cause issues for the IOC wanting to go to Ahmedabad in 2036. Still it’s less disruptive than Doha.

if these couple of weeks prove to be a success, we might well see a Roma-Milano candidature for 2036

2036 or 2040, in CONI circles I read that there was more talk of the latter. Probably giving the green light to Germany 2036 in exchange for Rome 2040.

if 2036 goes to GER (which I don't believe even if I see it, they can't go there on the Centenary of the Hitler's Games in Berlin), then Europe won't see another edition for 12 years at least

if they really want the Summer Games here, they have to push for 2036, not later

If a credible bid had come across the IOC's radar it would have been awarded by now imo. Which western country is going to submit a good bid and get the games?

I would like to see the Summer Games in Italy after long time ago: 1960, especially since the last times we have only had winter editions, but with this political class it will be difficult :( First of all, such games should serve to promote and strengthen local sport, and we have a problem with that. If I remember good, that, 1960 was a very successful year for us in sports - maybe some normal people were still in power in that time, no idiots, like now?

Can I purposely make them there to show that they are a completely different country?

How about we choose either Rome or Milano :d I hate this timeline we have entered of multiple host cities / countries. The football World Cup became ludicrous, we don't need the Olympics to join them. At least not more than they already are.

impossible, there are not enough venues in both towns

and I mean, Milan doesn't have an Olympic Stadium, a decent Tennis Complex and a big Swimming Complex (not to mention the sea)

Rome, on the other hand, doesn't have a Rowing/Canoeing Basin nor arenas and stadiums for the team sports beyond football and rugby

there's no chance that all those venues would be built from scratch, meanwhile if we use both cities we already have almost everything we need, especially the most expensive and controversial sites
