And so the Dutch medal hopes end in the Quarters, these are really difficult draws for both pairs. I could see Duda/Ana Patricia taking gold and Ahman/Hellvig taking silver vs Mol/Sorum in the finals.

Men’s Semifinals

:CZE Perušič/Schweiner v. :USA Crabb/Brunner

:SWE Åhman/Hellvig v. :POL Bryl/Łosiak

Women’s Semifinals

:BRA Duda/Ana Patricia v. :AUS Clancy/Mariafe

:USA Hughes/Cheng v. :USA Kloth/Nuss

:NOR Mol/Sørum, :CAN Mel/Brandie, and :SUI Hüberli/Brunner all out on the same day

Rooting against Hughes/Cheng for the remainder of the tournament, don’t like Cheng very much (Tokyo 2020 Olympics QF as a prime example). Same for Duda/AP, but to a lesser extent (Big fan of Duda, not so much AP). Ever since they partnered up Duda seems to have lost all her joy.

I think it's strange that Pedro/Guto (definitely the weakest and oldest of the 4) was our pair that got the furthest in this tournament. Well, at least it represents the current moment of our men's beach volleyball.

The Dutch :NED teams finish 5th. How much points for the Olympic ranking do they get for their 5th places? And how many points for 9tjh place? I can't find the points table.

    • Exactly. Recent developments of the construction haven't been particularly encouraging, and while they'll probably get everything sorted just in time, a lot of North American fans have been quite vocal about every minor inconvenience.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
