So, at the end :SVK will be represented by 3 athletes. Gabriela Gajanová grabbed one of the last quotas in the W 800 and will experience her European Indoor Championship debut just like Viktória Forster who did qualify in 2 events the W 60m and in the very last qualification day set a new NR and also the entry standard (8.03) in the W 60m Hurdles.

Ján Volko will take part in his 5th careers EICh again in the M 60m

No special goals for our mini-team. A semifinal from Gajanová and/or Viki Forster  in one of her events would be heroic and amazing. Volko, a goal nobody will says it oppenly, should be advancing to the Final.

This looks to be our team.

:wSLO: SLOVENIA :wSLO:

() - qualifying rank

Jan Vukovič - 800 m (17)

Filip Jakob Demšar - 60 m Hurdles (30)

Robert Renner - Pole Vault (17)

Jan Luxa - Triple Jump (18)

Anita Horvat - 800 m (2)

Jerneja Smonkar - 800 m (18)

Veronika Sadek - 800 m (20)

Maruša Mišmaš Zrimšek - 1500 m (27), 3000 m (9)

Joni Tomičič Prezelj - 100 m Hurdles (31)

Lia Apostolovski - High Jump (12)

Tina Šutej - Pole Vault (1)

Neja Filipič - Triple Jump (2)

Eva Pepelnak - Triple Jump (17)

If there will be no cancellation, we will have 13 athletes (4 men, 9 women). This would equal Birmingham 2007, in last years participation was a bit poor, with exception of last Championships (13 athletes).

Šutej is hard favourite to take a medal, then there are Filipič, Horvat and Mišmaš Zrimšek, so quite a descent ladies team.

EDIT: No Demšar, 12 athletes (3m, 9w)

Lithuania decides to eliminate the track from track & field as Morauskaitė is injured and Keršulis is staying in the United States.

Our team consists of five athletes:

Juozas Baikštys - High Jump (possibly recovering from an injury, not jumping high at all as of yet)

Urtė Baikštytė - High Jump (lost to Palšytė last weekend)

Jogailė Petrokaitė - Long Jump

Aina Grikšaitė - Triple Jump (had her first 14+ meter jump last weekend at the Lithuanian indoor championships)

Dovilė Kilty - Triple Jump (lost to Aina)

No Klara Lukan? She posted that she's competing in Birmingham at the end of the indoor tour.

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
    • The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.
