ouch! what a demonstration of superiority by the Sinkevich brothers...:hatoff:

I always thought that re-building the Lodo-Vicino duo in the M2- wasn't a good idea, now we have the practical demonstration of it...way better to put them on the men's Four (they would make it almost unbeatable)...

however, :CRO / :ITA / :ESP are the first boats to earn an Olympic spot this morning (men's Pair)...

now it's time for the second semifinal in this same class...

Great. I hope for more!

2 more booked today; probably another 2 will come tomorrow; it's gr8 for a country who had just 3 boats at Rio and one lousy bronze medal

Watch out for Radis/Bodnar in women's double sculls; youngest crew here (20 & 21 yo) but won semifinal in champion style and have a bright future ahead

If the lights light up exactly at the correct moment, he was definitely first, since his light went on first. Not sure if those lights are 100% accurate though?

Looks like my prediction is coming true for NZ at the moment. Currently 4 women's crews are in for 2020 with 2 more women's crews to join them which his highly likely and maybe 1 in the b final if lucky. Currently only 1 men's crew has made it to 2020. How pathetic is men's rowing in NZ an absolute disaster. Manson may not even qualify the single.

Sadly i can't find full results for the world championships from 2003 and before that, but i think this is the first time since at least 2003 that only european rowers made the men's single sculls final.

Unless Zeidler chokes again (like he did last year) he should definitely win gold here. Germany could also win a gold in men's lightweight double sculls, but in men's eight and women's quadruple sculls gold sadly would be a huge surprise at this point. Once again german rowing got their training completely wrong. They were great at the european championships and after that it only went downhill.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

We had two crews in Rio, and both won medals. Instead of using that success to build up a program, looks like we can only hope to have the exact same athletes next year.

It's always the same old story in our sport. We either have extremely dedicated individuals or weekend amateurs, and nothing in between.
