Just found this interesting.

MOLLY – THE WORLD’S FIRST DOPING DOG COMING TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!

Molly, the world’s first doping detection dog, works to detect prohibited substances and helps in the selection during a doping control. Molly lives in Falun, Sweden. She is an 8-year-old Springer Spaniel work together with a dog handler, who is also a doping control officer.

Molly will appear during the Bandy World Championships for Group B, Group A and Women in Sweden in the end of March and beginning of April. Molly will help with the on-site doping controls, but when is of course a secret.

A rare football ban to grace this topic :d Today, after a 7 month investigation, UEFA have given a 4 year ban to CSKA-Sofia's Georgi Yomov, who tested positive after a match in the Conference League in august. Of course CSKA have said, that they would appeal the case in front of CAS.

So USADA reduced her ban so she can return just in time for Paris. 🙄

No, she would not be able to qualify from the US Nationals.    Ooops it's only 18 months backdated, so she returns just in time for the US outdoor season 2023.

The ban ends in February 2024 and trials aren't until June. If she were banned for the full 24 months it wouldn't end until August.

Yeah, you're right, just corrected my post.  Obviously the 18 months instead of the standard 24 is to allow just that. :shame:

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
