Bellingham is the best player in the world right now. Unlike Mbappe and Haaland he can do everything in attack, like all the goats from the past did.

PSV beat Ajax 5-2 and now, I kid you not, Ajax is in 18th and last place in the competition

They were absolutely destroyed by German Sven Mislintat, who for whatever reason was appointed technical director last summer, used his shady contacts to come up with a lot of very shady deals for unknown players through one of his own companies (20 million for Josip Sutalo of GNK Dinamo, 16 million for Georges Mikautadze of FC Metz, 12.5 million for Gaston Avila of Antwerp, 8 million for Borna Sosa of Stutgart etc...he spent a whopping 92 million for a bunch of players, almost all of whom actually said they never expected to end up at Ajax (duh, nobody did)).

When the shady dealings through his company came to light, it didn't take long for Mislintat to be kicked out, but that really was too late and now they've gotten a grand total of 5 points in 8 matches :p

Not unimportant to mention that Ajax has two fewer matches than most of the other teams.

Jong Ajax is also bottom of the Eerste Divisie (the 2nd highest division).

True, although 5 points in 8 matches is still incredibly pathetic (and incredibly funny considering how a lot of Ajax fans often act and talk :p). Ajax relegating would honestly be one of the funniest things I have ever seen in Dutch sports. It's not happening, but boy it'd be hilarious.

Australia has withdrawn for the 2034 World Cup and now Saudi Arabia is the only one left, just like FIFA wanted....surprise

It's getting so pathetic it's just almost funny :p

Surprise surprise, apparently FIFA confirmed Saudi Arabia has 2034 hosts. Obviously entirely expected, but the most hilarious thing is Infantino apparently actually said the following bit of nonsense :d

"Football unites the world more than any other sport. The World Cup is the perfect stage for a message of unity and diversity."

Lovely statement about going to a country where 7th century stuff is still the 'law' and local police can kill you for being, well, you. Infantino showing again that FIFA was actually a nice federation under Blatter's rule

Well, at least there is no bribery among the selection vote anymore :p Once Saudi Arabia decided to bid die Sache war gegessen :old:

Like the Oprah meme, everyone gets to host a World Cup these days, from Paraguay to Saudi Arabia. It's all about the money and football is business more than a sport. Welcome to XXI century.

    • Congrats Diggins, well deserved! 👏   Too bad she fell on the last lap in the last race (as well as Karlsson also did x2).   For the future I would really like them to remove the bonus sprint points suring the race that almost makes more importance to the overall standings than the positions over the finish line. And get back to the same point system as the other FIS events. 30 gets points instead on 50, and 100-80-60... instead of this system. in this case Diggins deserves it and Sweden who of different reasons have missed pets of the season On purpose or not, does not deserve it. But it as it is now it may take 20 wins to catch up for one missed race (if the opponent is 2nd in each). Dahlqvist won the sprint cup without any individual wins (3rd overall) is one example of that.    There must be room to miss a race of any reason. If not, it Will not make people race more events, instead it might make skoters who already missed one weekend feel they are already too far behind so they light as well take less priority on the rest of the World cup season. Also skiiers who in Norway for example would be good enough for a top3 in the overall might not even be selected for many races due to the internal competition. Same for a skiier like Ebba Andersson who most likely would not qualify if she would be selected to go a sprint race. But she would still get a few points probably for rk 31-50, but because she would not make it in to the Swedish sprint team she Will lose a lot even compared to those who fail the sprint qualifications. Frida Karlsson another example, she would also probably have qualified most of the times but is most often not good enough to make the team. With more award to winning and making podiums and also less athletes scoring that would make it better I think. The scoring system in biathlon got some critics when they decided you have to count all races, but they at least increased the value of top positions meaning you could faster catch up a bad race/missed race, by a few podiums.
    • Great to see O’Connor on the podium again! Thats 4 major medals in the past 12 months (World Indoors x 2, Euro Indoors and World Championships).   Her strongest event is the javelin so she is going to continue to be a huge threat in the heptathlon this summer and she is still improving all the other events. Exciting times for her
    • Congrats to Diggins winning the WC in her final season
    • Call me mad, but it feels very strange to have made it all the way through a major championships without hearing how the results were going to lead to a slashing of funding for  sport.
    • Only Fabbri from Italy has disappointed and that's a bit concerning... In 3 of the last 4 major events (OG and 2x Indoor World Champ), he's performed significantly worse than he did on the entire season – he took bronze at the 2025 World Championships, but his result was also nothing special. His performance today is completely incomprehensible  (
