Archery WA World Championships 2019

after 54 arrows, in the individual standings we have the top 7 within 3 points only...I've never seen such a close race for the top places...

meanwhile in the team event, the South Korean superiority is almost embarassing...Italy is always between the 8th and 10th place, but frankly it would be a lot better to end up 10th (even if it means we would have to shoot in the preliminary round) rather then 8th or 9th, so to avoid the match-up against our bete noir China in the 1/8 finals (the mostan important round of them all, meaning the olympic qualification if you can go through that) and a deadly possible match up with KOR in the quarterfinals (if we can get this far in the tournament)...

he's trying, but he's not going...he's 76th after 66 arrows (and he's the man who's keeping our team in the dangerous pack between 8th and 15th place)...

p.s. he's Galiazzo, without that "g"...;)

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
