looks like they have a moral code in Qatar, they never naturalized a female athlete. :d (at least as far as I remember)

but Bahrain naturalizes everything available :d I wonder really why ? I'm sure nobody in Bahrain cares about these results. they are not even "that rich" comparing to Qatar.

To make people know Bahrain exists? :d

If it wasn't for those bought athletes and Formula 1, I'd have no idea why I would even know of it's existence :p

And I doubt "we should not buy women" is as much a moral code for Qatar as it is a sign of them believing women are simply inferior beings

That's a good point from someone outside of the middle east. here we are doomed to know Bahrain exists :d (which was a part of Iran not long time ago) but that's still confusing, this way people learn about Bahrain in a bad way ! I'm sure you are not in love with Bahrain :d

I was joking about the moral code obviously. actually Qatar is more "moderate" comparing to other Persian Gulf countries. specially Bahrain. but the difference is , in recent years, Qatar didn't buy these athletes. they go to Qatar in young age because they have better chance to improve in Qatar. that's still bad but at least you can give credit a bit to Qatar because they were nobodies when they started in Qatar. but Bahrain buy already established athletes. or simply whatever possible. honestly I don't know if there is a policy about not-buying women in Qatar or that's simply because women are less interested in sports (athletics in particular) in north African countries  (where most of Qatari athletes come from)

Qatar was also like Bahrain, they had athletes like Said Saeed Shaheen or their whole handball NT, their Bulgarian weightlifters and there are lots of examples but I'm talking about the recent years after creating the ASPIRE academy

    • Johaug was looking very good in Beitostoelen yesterday, to say the least.   https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=46969
    • The only reasons Johaug won't compete are either injury or mis-treating her sunburnt lips again.

    • Hallberg MAGIC!  Amazing on the last flat sector!
    • Johaug will not be competing in Milano-Cortina.
    • Noel- 1st place today after 1 run, Amiez- 3rd place... Vinatzer is a talent similar to Noel, so I ask where are his results, where are the other skiers in the lead of classification? Did they really think they would ride on one Gross and Razzoli until 2026?
    • The problem of the Italian federation is that her system doesn`t work and we can`t afford to lose talents like Colturi. Our slalom does not exist, whether among women or men. We are currently at a level under that Croatia in women and Bulgaria in the men's category. There is no progress, in fact there is regression, because while Vinatzer often didn`t finish runs a few years ago, when he did finish he was able to be in the top. Now he either doesn`t finish or is around 20th place, like now. In the women's category the peak of our abilities is Peterlini, who regularly placed around 20th place in the World Cup... If we can`t afford to invest more than Albania and that with the Winter Olympics in a year at home, so I think we can really dissolve our ski sector and focus on something else... If the federation is satisfied with such low levels, let them continue   Btw. maybe it's better investing in private teams like Colturi, if it works? I'd like have 1-2 Colturi in private teams, who will stand on the podiums of the World Cup, than a national team consisting of 5-6 average skiers, who can take 20th place at most, if they finish the race at all...
