So overall that's 43 individual qualifiers (18 men + 25 women) + another woman for the mixed race walk event + relay quotas. I'm going to guess an extra 2 women for the 4x100m, 3 women for the 4x400m and 2 men for the 4x100m. So that's roughly a team size of 51 athletes now.

May is for sure one of the busiest, if not the busiest months in terms of Olympic qualifiers. Here’s what’s going on this week.

Canadian Olympic Swim Trials from Monday to Sunday is the biggest one, of course all of our big names will be there including McIntosh, Liendo, Kharun, MacNeil, and Masse. Another event that’s big, is the 3x3 Basketball Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Wednesday to Sunday, where our women’s team will look to forget about the disappointment of that loss in the final to Australia. Our men’s team will also feature, although their chances are quite slim. Then there’s the Canadian Diving Olympic Trials from Friday to Sunday where two spots on the team are available. Zsombar-Murray will probably qualify in men’s 10m, but there’s an intriguing battle between Vallee and Ware for the quota in women’s 3m, both have been world medalists in the last two years. Also qualification opportunities at the Table Tennis American Olympic Qualifier from Tuesday to Saturday, with Mo Zhang, BMX Racing World Championships (really important for our men) this Sunday to Saturday, the Olympic Qualifier Series stop in Shanghai from Thursday to Sunday, and the Triathlon Mixed Relay Olympic Qualifier from Friday to Sunday (especially important because Jamnicky is on the outside looking in for a 2nd women’s quota)

There’s also the start of Women’s VNL, where we’re in a tight battle for the final Olympic quota with the Netherlands.

Final Olympic qualifiers:

Women's 4x finish third in the preliminary heat (top 3 were separated by a second or so)

The men's eight with a second place finish more than 4 seconds over third place Italy.

And both miss out on a spot at Paris. Smallest rowing team ever?

Zero(!) male rowers in Paris. Hard to believe.

Hopefully some heads will roll at Rowing Canada

The whole organization needs to be gutted at this point. What an embarrassment.
