Chung and Son are here to avoid military service rather than because asian games are important for them :p

This are the most important games after the olympics (a bit better in overall level than pan american), a pity that it will be hard to watch.

Wrong. Chung is already an Asian Games gold medalist. he is here because his country wants more gold medals.

but yeah everybody knows about Son's military service story. it's just impossible to gather best football teams for such competition at this time of the year. obviously there should be other reasons involved.

even about Son. he is coming only because his country cares A LOT about one more gold in football. otherwise they should not even use averaged players which gives that option to Son. as I said before some countries use their U21 squad here preparing for the Olympic qualifiers.

Sort of like Wikipedia, with the difference that Wikipedia is available for more people? :p

I use it mostly to help explain my passion to people, or as a hobby to do in my free time, or as a way to help those less informed follow along. I’ll share the pdf when the games finish (at least the replays part).

So Malaysia sent a 11 year old skater to the games. However, the hosts (Indonesia) are not to be outdone since they sent a 9 year old to the games.

Agreed, but I think it should have some kind of qualification for team sports - like in Football, for instance, in which 20+ teams is really unnecessary.

And it will be worse because the dumb broadcaster of Rio 2016 in Indonesia is the right holder for broadcasting...

I don't know whether the official channel will stream something: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7oWYw9vZbkDwCi81hJpZTQ/videos

If there is no streaming, you have to get an Indonesian VPN then go to vidio.com (yes, not video)

I can see football on that channel right now :d

Not that I care about that, but it does give hope for the more interesting sports :cheer:

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
    • Idea (that I don't want to mess with right now, but someone else can steal the idea): Could feed the docs from LA28 + Paris 2024 through AI and see what it says.  (Would just take downloading them, perhaps merging them for ease of upload, and passing it through.)
    • If you have time would love to see a sport by sport overview of the changes/new sports
    • Slowly going through the documents.   Looks like canoe slalom qualifiers will be a bit different. More kayak cross quotas which will let nations to essentially qualify two kayakers.
    • How about we choose either Rome or Milano  I hate this timeline we have entered of multiple host cities / countries. The football World Cup became ludicrous, we don't need the Olympics to join them. At least not more than they already are.

    • I'm also reminded as I know Canadians are painfully aware that if figures hadn't been a part of the 1984 Olympics, then Brian Orser would have won gold.  Hamilton could have finished 4th in the free skate that year and still beat Orser who finished 7th in the figures
