Men's football R16 draw

Today was a really sad day. both Iran and Saudi Arabia tried their best to avoid South Korea. losing to Myanmar was shameful and ironically one more goal from Myanmar could eliminate Iran ! and Iranian players were wasting time in last minutes scared of a possible 3rd goal. I think Iran played with mostly reserve players probably wanting a 0-0 draw but Saudis let North Korea score two early goals which probably confused Iranian coaches , they didn't know what to do. the first goal oh yes. but second goal wasn't intentional , it happened because Myanmar had no idea about "fair play" when an Iranian player was on the ground and Iranian players were waiting for them to kick the ball out and after that, our scared Croat coach was just yelling to his players to just "pass the ball forever" !

I think the table is quite unbalanced and we will have two not-so-good teams in semifinal. but that's it. we have the toughest possible road (and we deserved it for unfair play) South Korea and then Uzbekistan (the current U23 Asian Champion) :d

I was checking some wrestling draws for Wednesday and I think our guy Hossein Nouri at 87kg is probably the luckiest wrestler we ever had ! first with 12 wrestlers only 4 of them are in top half including Nouri and the other 3 wrestlers are almost the weakest wrestlers in the competition. and if we replace TKM with that Indonesian guy it will be exactly the 3 weakest wrestler. Turkmenistan is guaranteed a bronze medal a wrestling :p I would like to see Indonesia and Thailand wrestling for the bronze :d

I really hate these kind of drawing system. some of our wrestlers had/have to go through 2-3 world medalists to win a bronze ! but at least one of our wrestlers got extremely lucky. even though Nouri was favorite against anybody.

Well I knew something like this will happen:facepalm:.  Even though I actually thought we will be eliminated like 4 years ago. Still very shameful for a country like Iran. Just try to play football:wacko:

    • Hallberg MAGIC!  Amazing on the last flat sector!
    • Johaug will not be competing in Milano-Cortina.
    • Noel- 1st place today after 1 run, Amiez- 3rd place... Vinatzer is a talent similar to Noel, so I ask where are his results, where are the other skiers in the lead of classification? Did they really think they would ride on one Gross and Razzoli until 2026?
    • The problem of the Italian federation is that her system doesn`t work and we can`t afford to lose talents like Colturi. Our slalom does not exist, whether among women or men. We are currently at a level under that Croatia in women and Bulgaria in the men's category. There is no progress, in fact there is regression, because while Vinatzer often didn`t finish runs a few years ago, when he did finish he was able to be in the top. Now he either doesn`t finish or is around 20th place, like now. In the women's category the peak of our abilities is Peterlini, who regularly placed around 20th place in the World Cup... If we can`t afford to invest more than Albania and that with the Winter Olympics in a year at home, so I think we can really dissolve our ski sector and focus on something else... If the federation is satisfied with such low levels, let them continue   Btw. maybe it's better investing in private teams like Colturi, if it works? I'd like have 1-2 Colturi in private teams, who will stand on the podiums of the World Cup, than a national team consisting of 5-6 average skiers, who can take 20th place at most, if they finish the race at all...

    • IMO the Italian federation was right in not giving to that financial and political blackmail - had they accepted it, plenty of more established athletes in snow sports could have asked for more under the threat of changing nationality. It's not like they had a sports almanac from the future saying that that 15yo girl would have won 5 olympic gold medals and 5 overall world cups.
