Figure Skating at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022

I think a lot of people are overestimating Kamila’s chances here. I am fully confident she won’t be allowed to compete and that ROC will lose the team gold (which I find fairly tragic for the rest of the team tbh).

At this point I wouldn't be that surprised if Schizas found her way on the podium tbh. :p

I think all three Russians will pull out of the ladies. The IOC will urge them to pull out as even then IOC can see how damaging this is. They could easily lose western sponsors over Doping.

If we are getting into conspiracies here, will all Western skaters threaten to pull out in the event Valieva competes?

Some might make their views known and protest.

Her performance in the team event gives her an outside chance, but it would probably take all three Russians to not appear and maybe a couple of falls by some of the other top skaters.

Male single skaters invited to the gala:

:USA Nathan Chen

:JPN Yuma Kagiyama

:JPN Shoma Uno

:JPN Yuzuru Hanyu

:CHN Jin Boyang

:GEO Morisi Kvitelashvili

:CAN Keegan Messing

:USA Vincent Zhou

Why Zhou?

It’s ridiculous and offensive to other skaters, Cha & Brown in particular.

Probably because he couldn’t skate due to his COVID positive test.

Right. Let's try to make this thread more readable again.

Rhythm dance today. Perhaps my favorite segment of the entire figure skating. There will be some very enjoyable programs. Go Madison and Evan! :cheer:

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
    • Always dreamed Gretzky will draw Slovakia was another moment I can already remove from my things to do before die list
    • Finland have been awful in almost all winter sports, well beside ice hockey and cross-country from time to time, for a lot of years. It's very good to see them building people to challenge for wins again. Their new coach has done wonders it seems.
    • 14th June in Philadelphia against Cote d´Ivoire   20th June inToronto against Curacao   and 25th June in Philadeplphia to kick out  home    Not easy, but not the most difficult group. Should be okay. Vamos
