Alpine Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022

Not so surprising to see Gut make the gap on the super technical semi-giant slalom part of the course, but she really found a perfect line there

But then lost a bunch of time in the final split. :finger: Not that the winner needs to be the fastest at every split, but definitely felt like a faster time could have been posted.

Oh absolutely. I guess that's what you get when you make a super-G by almost literally turning it into part downhill + part giant slalom instead of something that is an overall mix :p

Guess they’re wanting to give younger skiers a chance of something.

She felt to exhausted but don't really like that explanation:d

alpine countries (switzerland, austria) are the strongest in alpine skiing

Not that surprising ...

Interestingly Austria won the medal table at 3 of the 5 last olympics and the two other times the medal table was won by Croatia and Germany of all countries ...

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Alice Robinson will have a crack at the DH on Wednesday. Only got a few bumps and bruises. She's got no regrets about how it went today. Yes disappointing that she crashed but her mindset was to go hard and push for something instead of having regrets and finishing 7th (Her own words) It's quite obvious to everyone that in time her main focus will be the speed events in the future. I actually think now she went in with the right attitude.

So thank goodness for her she wasn't injured.

Yeah, it's obviously the right attitude especially in an event she wasn't a favorite to medal. I just hope she doesn't have one crash too many one day.
