Do Croatian announcers get confused with the two?

No. That would be a little awkward since we shared a country (and a lot of history in general) with one of these. :p

well, this fit more on the Language thread, but yeah.

The answer is. Rules of slovak grammar my friend. It is one of the most difficult and complicated grammars in the world. A real nightmare of every Slovak kid :pHowever in short, Canada ends with an "A". The suffixes "sko" or "cko" is given only if the name of the country ends with a consonant. for example Francúz - sko, Talian - sko, Bulhar - sko etc...

the names of countries ending with a vowel remain unchanged. India, Ukrajina, Čína, Kórea, Kanada etc... USA for example Spojené Štáty. Kapverdy, Tahiti, Bermudy etc...

Don't know if this has been posted yet but Norway named it's first 7 athletes for the olympic team a few days ago.

Men:

Johannes Thingnes Bø

Tarjei Bø

Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen

Sturla Holm Lægreid

Women:

Tiril Eckhoff

Ida Lien

Marte Olsbu Røiseland

Interestingly, Tandrevold still hasn't been named to the team. Also apparently on the men's side, Dale and Bjøntegaard won't compete at the olympics.

His mom was a 1992 Olympian for the Czech National Team.  His father is a really well respected coach in the Minnesota area.  Thanks Czech Republic!

    • Add 1 strong pair from Russia and Cizeron, who will return with a new partner and this medal isn`t so certain. They will definitely have to refer to their life form from 2023, and so far, they have been recording worse results every year.

    • First, they lost the medal in the short dance, where their performance were also the worst in the season,   Second, since they had a good free dance, with which they won silver and bronze at the World Championships in previous years (with the result from 2023 it would be another silver today), why experiment and invent something new? You don't change what works well - better is the enemy of good,   The facts are that the Italian pair achieved a worse result at the World Championships than at the European Championships and generally had a weak season, and assuming the return of strong Russians, to win a medal they will need to score around 216-217 points, or maybe more.
    • LIIGA Playoffs   1st Round Results (Best-of-5 Series)   SaiPa Lappeenranta (5) b. TPS Turku (12)  3-2 (1-2; 2-6; 3-0; 2-1; 3-2 OT)   Sport Vaasa (11) b. • That dance crap, which is a sport of robbery, this year confirmed that it is a mafia. The Italians have dared so much by presenting a programme very different from the classical standards (and I don't like it) and the judges are harshly and rightly beating them up. Fabbri and Guignard have already announced that they will return to classic programmes next year (and magically they will be back on the podium). A discipline decided at the table.     Do you want bet something?
