Yes, I was talking about the 4x100m freestyle relay. The US will still be heavy favourites in the medley relay. Josh and dullard

Topicmaster1010 3,076 Posted June 21 #1077 Share Posted June 21 US Olympic Trials: Day 6 Finals: Women's 200m Butterfly (OQT: 2:08.43) 1. Regan Smith - 2:05.70 Q 2. Alex Shackell - 2:06.69 Q 3. Lindsay Looney - 2:07.03 4. Emma Sticklen - 2:08.07 5. Dakota Luther - 2:08.63 6. Charlotte Hook - 2:10.04 7. Tess Howley - 2:10.45 8. Lucy Bell - 2:10.58 Times slower than expected. Not sure if Regan was hurting at the end or if she shut it down but either, she qualifies in her 2nd event. Shackell also adds an individual swim after qualifying for the 4x200m freestyle relay. With Both Smith and Shackell doubling up, Abbey Weitzeil and Anna Peplowski are now officially on the Olympic team having earned 5th place in the 100m and 200m freestyle events. Men's 200m Backstroke (OQT: 1:57.50) 1. Ryan Murphy - 1:54.33 Q 2. Keaton Jones - 1:54.61 Q? 3. Jack Aikins - 1:54.78 4. Tommy Janton - 1:57.12 5. Jay Litherland - 1:57.16 6. Daniel Diehl - 1:57.60 7. Caleb Maldari - 1:58.31 8. Hunter Tapp - 1:59.30 3rd Olympic Trials in a row that Murphy's qualified in this event and 3rd year in a row that one of his teammates at the University of California has qualified alongside him. This time it's Keaton Jones who was very emotional after the race. I completely forgot to post about this but Hugo Gonzalez went 1:54.51 earlier today at Spanish Trials. Murphy must've heard him because he responds here with the fastest time of the year. Women's 200m Breaststroke (OQT: 2:23.91) 1. Kate Douglass - 2:19.46 Q 2. Lilly King - 2:21.93 Q 3. Alex Walsh - 2:22.38 4. Ella Nelson - 2:23.95 5. Kaelyn Gridley - 2:27.44 6. Anna Keating - 2:29.54 7. Isabelle Odgers - 2:30.07 8. Raya Mellott - 2:30.19 2nd win of the trials for Kate Douglass and just 0.16 off her American Record. Alex Walsh was leading King after 150m but King made a late push to get the 2nd spot. With Both Douglass and King doubling up on events here, Erika Connolly secures her place on the Olympic Team after she beat Catie DeLoof in a swimoff to earn the 6th spot in the women's 100m freestyle. Semi-finals: Advancing to Men's 50m Freestyle Final: 1. Chris Guiliano - 21.59 2. Caeleb Dressel - 21.61 3. Jack Alexy - 21.66 4. Ryan Held - 21.82 5. Michael Andrew - 21.83 6. Quintin McCarty - 21.85 7. Matt King - 21.88 8. Adam Chaney - 21.81 (Needed a double swimoff to decide 8th place!!!!!) Top 3 from the 100 free looking like the favourites again in this race. There was some doubt about Dressel in the morning after what looked like a sluggish prelims swim but he was much better tonight. Will also see if Michael Andrew can silence all his haters and qualify here. Advancing to Women's 200m Backstroke Final: 1. Regan Smith - 2:06.41 2. Phoebe Bacon - 2:07.23 3. Claire Curzan - 2:07.47 4. Katie Grimes - 2:07.75 5. Teagan O'Dell - 2:07.97 6. Isabelle Stadden - 2:08.40 7. Rhyan White - 2:08.63 8. Kennedy Noble - 2:08.87 Signs of life in this race from Claire Curzan! 2nd spot in this event is wide open after Regan Smith who will likely be on world record watch again tomorrow. Advancing to Men's 200m Individual Medley Final: 1. Chase Kalisz - 1:56.83 2. Shaine Casas - 1:57.87 3. Kieran Smith - 1:57.94 4. Carson Foster - 1:57.96 5. Owen McDonald - 1:58.21 6. Grant House - 1:58.24 7. Arsenio Bustos - 1:58.37 8. Will Modglin - 1:58.44 No idea how this will play out tomorrow. Should be a fun race!
