I think badminton is among one of the sports which enjoyed being in the European Games. Elite athletes coming, help them getting a host for European championships, and also developing badminton in the host country (now both Azerbaijan and Belarus have annual open tournaments).

@thiago_simoes Here are the WAG and MAG entries. Countries were allowed a maximum of 3 gymnasts per gender.

Overall what did you think about the entries? Will this still be great gymnastics, or will it be a mix of good and bad?

Yeah, looks like these games will be even worse than the ones in Baku. I hope this is where the road ends for the European Games. Tried it, didn't work, move on.

It really sounding the European Championships is where most of the sports federations want to go. I guess we’ll have to wait to see how they fare.

Greek athletes to fly PM class to Minsk after ticket debacle

Greece's athletics team for this month's European Games in Belarus will fly there in the prime minister's government jet, after sports officials couldn't find seats on commercial flights for them. The country's track and field federation, Segas, said Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras placed the plane at its disposal Thursday, shortly after it had announced its withdrawal from the event due to the ticket problem. Segas says 15 Greek track-and-field athletes are due to take part in the June 21-30 games in Minsk.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
