Hello everyone. A nice topic to start posting here.

:GRE - Rowing - Maria Kyridou/Christina Bourbou (womens pair) - Gold

For Greece, Fani Tzeli will be competing in tae kwon do, along with the rowers. Tzeli won bronze in 2018.

I'll try a different approach and I'll go by sport.

In swimming, there are a lot medalists from 2018, who are going to Tokyo. I'll name a few. The events mentioned are those in which they got the medal in 2018, not (necessarily) the ones they are swimming this time.

Probably, there will be more who will compete in relays, plus those who didn't win a medal back then, but will swim in Tokyo.

For Greece we have 4 confirmed so far. In addition to gold medalists Christina Bourmpou (rowing) and Maria Kyridou (rowing) and bronze medalist Fani Tzeli (taekwondo), we also have 5th placed Katerina Divari (sailing).

Gold medalist Elina Tzengko (javelin throw) will go up in the Road to Tokyo rankings and will be close but will need 3-4 withdrawals or so in order to make it to Tokyo.

From our 2010 YOG team, we have Alexios Ntanatsidis (judo) making his Olympic debut in Tokyo, while Panagiotis Samilidis (swimming) won't be in Tokyo but was in London and Rio.

From our 2014 YOG team, we have Theodora Gkountoura (fencing) making her Olympic debut in Tokyo, with silver medalist Apostolos Christou (swimming) and Anna Korakaki (shooting) going to Tokyo after making their Olympic debuts in Rio. Aikaterini Kontochristopoulou (fencing) won't be in Tokyo but she was in Rio.

So in Tokyo it seems that we will have 4 athletes from the 2018 Youth Olympics and 8 athletes total from any Youth Olympics.

    • Honestly, I think you guys have a much better chance of success here than we do. It's already difficult to maintain this sport, and with this ridiculous format this year, things have gotten even worse. Years and years participating in the elite and we haven't been able to evolve; it was just a waste.

    • Another weak result for our athletics team, which is typical; without Caio or Alisson, our chances of a medal in any high-level tournament are almost zero.   However, Juliana's result in the women's pole vault was a great 7th place. She is improving rapidly and still has a lot of room for growth.

    • some changes in the team and less importance to the sport, the two big teams until 2022/2023 ( and ) in south america started to decrease a lot and in the other hand the 3rd in South America () is growing a lot, is really impressive. We are currently the favourites for the LA2028 quota
