  1. Ice hockey player (former NHL and KHL) Konstantin Koltsov , also the boyfriend of Aryna Sabalenka since 2021, suddenly passed away in Miami (where I assume he was with Sabalenka) aged 42.
  2. Great to hear that everything is apparently now going great in Niger, finally.
  3. I only know and so far I've heard a few others when playing the playlist, but no idea which country those were and they didn't really impress my anyway (I assume France was one, because it was something like 'mon amour' this and 'mon amour' that )
  4. Same here And it's a matter of agreeing to disagree, which is of course fine. Anyway it's going to be good in Paris.
  5. Yep, that's what I meant with her being very much a contender in the big mix. There's a whole bunch of contenders who have all worked super hard for it (presumably all of them 'want it the most', and that kind of thing), and if there's one unpredictable event, it's the keirin. Gonna be fun, at least 10-15 riders have a significant medal shot and the fight for gold is most likely going to be fantastically tight
  6. Yep, yet another one of many, many contenders for the medals.
  7. Nah, even in North Korea the winner gets a win with 99.98% of the votes or so I guess those 13% for non-Putin in Russia are the people who managed to vote without an armed military person in the voting booth with them.
  8. One would imagine the chances may increase a little bit if it turns more into a combat sport, so not with controlled hits and such. Real fighting might be more...urban
  9. Obviously, there's no way any one of those should be in Qatar at all, I assume we all agree on that. I meant I wouldn't even have been surprised if Qatar would build a new stadium for every single one of these events (they most likely won't, but...it is Qatar).
  10. Wait, they're not going to use more slaves to build new stadiums for every single one of these World Cups?
  11. Nice weekend of short track skating, too bad the DJ messed things up between and even during races. Wonder how many people will leave with tinnitus
  12. The result of that is that will have to do the relay with the line-up with which they got a 3rd place in the World Cup, followed by a win, a win and another win. Plus without Schulting the chance of actually getting a result is bigger anyway
  13. Koreans screwing each other in short track, one of the all-time classics
  14. It's about time they make the kick finishes illegal, where someone finishes with the skate up and the back of the skate in the ice. It's causing so many delays due to the ice having to be fixed.
  15. Especially the keirin, few events have so many contenders, with the biggest 'favourite' probably still having only like 10% chance
  16. Yeah, especially after those issues in the prone shooting (which were so odd, standing was fine) it's awesome to see how she fought back I do feel for Tandrevold for really letting it slip through her hands in the last weeks, but overall I'm enjoying this fight, I'd be happy with both of them as overall winner (different than that year with Vittozzi vs Wierer, where I was very strongly cheering for Vittozzi...), so it's a win-win situation for me as viewer
  17. Thanks! I'll look at it tomorrow I think, since right after my post Tiz-cycling went back up and had the link to UCI's YouTube video (which is unlisted, so one needs the link)
  18. Anyone have a clue where the UCI stream of day two can be found? I'd check Tiz-cycling, but their website is down again
  19. In a semi-perfect world (because in a perfect world this whole situation wouldn't have happened of course) both teams would very quickly agree to just stop the match until those assholes are removed, but yeah...I doubt that'll happen Good that he speaks up about it, a quick read in the comments seems to at least be overwhelmingly supportive.
  20. What I find most odd is that apparently there's two people fighting each other on Wikipedia editing (seriously, come on), but then they take this fight here and post on Totallympics only to post about their fight on Wikipedia This whole thread is honestly the weirdest and oddest thing (weirder than the death wishes/threats) I have seen in I guess around 10 years of Totallympics
  21. Holy moly, impressive memory Bib 108 for Tarjei, but in Pokljuka 2009 he was 4th behind Swiss Thomas Frei. https://web.archive.org/web/20150112111519/http://services.biathlonresults.com/results.aspx?RaceId=BT0910SWRLCP03SMSP
  22. Wow. Are Wikipedia people that petty that a simple normal page like this can apparently not stay open? Although reading back a bit in this thread, with some unexplainable shit-throwing back and forth going on....yeah, Wikipedia people seem...odd
