:BEL Quand C’est - Stromae :BEL

This isn’t originally the song I was going to present in this edition of the Festival of Music, but it was just impossible to pass on the opportunity. This song comes Stromae’s album Racine Carrée, and was later released as a single in 2015. Racine Carrée is, in my opinion, one of the greatest albums and musical works in history. Stromae really experiments with what electronic music can be. He takes electronic music/EDM, and mixes it with rap, pop, African rhythms/hymns, bossa nova, etc. He also provides stirring and provocative commentary on a multitude of social issues. This song, Quand C’est is a lament on cancer. The lyrics compare cancer to a serial criminal and visuals are reminiscent of video game depictions of grotesque/sci-fi type monsters.

@heywoodu I think New Zealand and Kazakhstan will need swap their positions with someone due rule of "reasonable hours". Same about Indonesia and Brazil.

Well let's see if those juries request a swap. @Wanderer @Ruslan @titicow your voting time has been scheduled outside of "reasonable hours" in your local time. If you wish to request a swap you can do so. However, if you are unlikely to deliver the votes yourself or if you are happy to stick to the current schedule then that's fine also. Please write on thread in the next 48 hours if you want to request a swap in order to give @heywoodu time to start preparing the scoreboard templates.

I believe the Kazakh jury resides in Prague these days? If so, that swap is unlikely.

Also, it would be desirable to keep the team compositions intact if the swaps do occur.

Yes we will keep nations in the same teams as they were drawn originally.

Jorge Drexler - Todo se transforma

Uruguay has very prolific industry music considering that the population of the country is slightly below 3.5 million people. There are several authors from this country I usually listen to, but I have decided to present Jorge Drexler, one of my favorites cantautores in Spanish, with very ingenious lyrics. This particular song might not be the best one, but it was the first one I listened and probably the most popular one in terms of views on YouTube.

Side note: I totally recommend you to discover Montevideo Carnival and murgas

Any ideas for the team competition?

We could have our own electoral college. Only instead of population, we use the number of participations / result history to determine who gets how many electoral votes for the Team Challenge.

Basically, Ireland would be our California, the Netherlands would be our Pennsylvania, while someone like Israel would be our Rhode Island. :p
