  1. Women's skeleton looks very competitive after the first two training runs yesterday. Some big time gaps between first and last though.
  2. They have athletes in a lot of sports here. I remember that they wanted to get more involved in winter sports during the last cycle, so they must have decided to put some funding behind that initiative
  3. Livestreaming hub: https://olympics.com/en/gangwon-2024/live-stream
  4. Damn, it feels like we're starting this early this year will be entering once again, of course. I'm hoping @dezbee2008 and @owenp_23 (or others) will join me
  5. Not trying to take one side or another by posting this… I just think it’s well argued and provides “food for thought” on the matter.
  6. sending four(!!) biathletes is quite something
  7. The PDFs are in the same order, but they did show the splits ranked. I think that's just how the software works for training in luge.
  8. The pictograms kind of have a retro feel in my opinion (at least the ones on the results PDFs). They remind me of the 70s/80s pictograms.
  9. Athlete/NF/NOC probably input into the system and it slipped under the radar. I’d just email the NOC/NF of said athlete, and give them a heads up.
  10. I do think this is a great time have an event like this though. No Olympics, fewer world championships, and it takes place before/in between other major sports events (Daytona 24, Super Bowl, whatever the hell Europeans watch in late January/early February )
  11. “Normal” people are boring anyway
  12. @heywoodu I can also think of a good number of athletes who’ve gone onto to senior success after YOG success as well. Alpine Skiing does seem to be on the lower end of that though.
  13. If you count Rugby Sevens as part of the wider rugby ecosystem, then I’d probably place it in front of handball.
  14. It looks like the same results system Atos used for Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022.
  15. Yeah, but why spend all that money to watch in Korea, when you can spend all your time watching online with us
  16. Germany already has the critically beloved The Teacher’s Lounge as it entry (which also made the shortlist). I think they made the right choice there. The “nationality” of films is a weird subject. The one film per nation rule benefits some (Cote D’Ivoire and Bhutan for instance), but complicates the process for other’s. Plus, many films have multiple nations attached to their production.
  17. Official training for sliding sports should get underway in the next 36 hours I believe, so I guess we are due for a results system. My guess is that it will either be SwissTiming (sportresult as mentioned by @heywoodu) or Atos given those have historically been the IOC’s timing/IT partners.
  18. It’ll be close I think. It’s just such a great year in film. Many countries with more than one worthy film.
  19. Tends to be counted with the Spanish language countries in the US.
  20. Four Daughters won the jury award for best international film at the film festival I attended. I’d seen the documentary before hand and quite liked it (I gave it 4/5 stars). My favorite from the festival was The Teacher’s Lounge.
  21. It probably depends on what that title means to a player/country… I wouldn’t be shocked if many Puerto Ricans could still name the 2016 women’s singles gold medalist for instance
  22. They’ll probably post a results system in a few days. They aren’t really behind schedule in that regard.
  23. Peacock only has figure skating on their streaming schedule at the moment, so I guess I’ll be watching the Olympic Channel.
  24. @heywoodu Not sure if this is any better, but it was what the IOC had posted up until a few days ago: YOG Schedule integrated_ENG.pdf
  25. I solve this problem by being agnostic/atheist
