  1. It's coooooming home, it's cooooooming home.
  2. So the team wasn't good enough to stay in the top division, resulting in financial support being cut in some way, and now the team is angry? Isn't that, at the very least, partially their own fault for getting relegated? I mean, it's rough and I might miss something, but it sounds like they were the ones who didn't take their chances..
  3. The atmosphere in Sub-Saharan sports events
  4. Fairly sure you don't mean a Lithuanian, but Latvian Toms Skujins Who is another example of riders who usually for whatever reason (feeling good, weaker field of participants, whatever) are only good in a rather specific set of races (USA in his case), until he suddenly attacked in a big race in Europe as well this year
  5. Because California is World Tour, so quite a lot of teams are obligated to go there. Generally for the diehard cycling fan races like Utah are more fun though, since you see riders you normally don't see that often. I'm disappointed I haven't seen attacks by Rob Britton yet, which he usually does as soon as the roads start rising in any of these races. Last year it was Sep Kuss who didn't just 'cycle', he gave everyone else cycling lessons.
  6. Just watching it now and yay! As is tradition in events like the Tour of Utah, Colorado, California and so on, we've got ourselves a rider making a fool of himself by cheering 'for the win' one lap too early This time Team BridgeLane's Hayden McCormick of Australia went on the attack in the final lap and soloed across the finish, only to realize that wasn't actually the last lap
  7. As is usually the case with US races and especially those centered around a city, Tour of Utah organizers were a bit out of inspiration for yesterday's 4th stage They had this lap of straight, straight, climb + downhill, straight, straight and just did it 8 times
  8. I thought the popular days of the Volvo Ocean Race were years ago Anyway, I didn't watch the video yet but it can't be much less interesting than current sailing (in my opinion, of course), so let's give it a try, nothing to lose
  9. That's a sad level of opposition for Jill. Fairly sure she'll take the double, I'm hoping Jeremy Flanagan does the same.
  10. Not much known for his unimpressive ride at the Olympics (33rd), but what a legend of the sport. One of only seven riders to win the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España
  11. Anyone have any clue why FIBA is live streaming press conferences, but no matches? https://www.youtube.com/user/FIBAWorld/videos?view=2&flow=grid I was looking forward to watching Senegal - Mozambique in the semi's tonight, last time I watched an African basketball match (under-something in Mali I think) the atmosphere was, in one word, freakingawesome.
  12. That is really cool
  13. I know, just wanted to stress the point about how incredible it is to see someone so young, be that good
  14. Thanks! I'll check those lower positions when I finished watching the finals. Cool to see Seo in the boulder semis already after dominating lead this season as a what, 6-year old?
  15. @phelps Or anyone else, could you perhaps provide me with the qualification results of the men's and women's boulder competitions? So to clarify: the qualifying results only, I still very much would like to watch the semi's and finals without knowing those results but am afraid looking on an official website or something would spoil that for me
  16. Team event? I thought I was watching an individual event
  17. Oh right, the classic 'lets have earlier rounds with an incomplete sport and call it the same sport'.
  18. I guess traditionalists have never seen the ridiculous show jumping part The single reason to watch it is the laughable level*
  19. That's where I stopped reading and agreed with your plan.
  20. The arrival of....?
  21. If 'the sign' means 'the sign that humans just can not stay out of what is simply not human territory', then yes, this is the sign. Again
  22. They should feel free to just go ahead and be proactive in that regard. Goodbye ancient modern pentathlon.
  23. I would only like triathlon if it's in the Ironman format. You know, swim what feels like half the ocean, cycle a professional cycling race distance and then run a marathon. Now that's impressive.
