  1. So, Bruna beat Duda by 3 seconds or so today. She got 279 points, Duda got 307, which brings us to this situation, with only tomorrow's 5k classic to go: Mika is now officially out, she has no theoretical race anymore in which to get her sprint average under 300 and even if she did, she'd be 4th in points anyway. Duda needs to get under 153 points tomorrow to even have a chance. If she scores 153.00 or more, she will end up with more (and so, worse) points than Bruna's current total. That is, of course, if Bruna doesn't improve her 281.10 points. If she does that, Duda will need to get under 153 minus Bruna's improvement. In short, it's looking more than excellent for Bruna.
  2. Meanwhile, this weekend is the deciding one everywhere, so also for Brazil. The current situation: Unless there is some insane miracle, Mika is out. And Jaque is of course in, as she definitely should be. After the Serbian situation, which wasn't as much the federation's fault as we originally thought (so that situation can be rectified), Bruna, Duda and Mika will compete in the Swiss championships in Zweisimmen this weekend, freestyle sprint tomorrow, 5k classic Sunday. The main thing to look at is the fight for the second ticket, Bruna against Duda, with Bruna being 141 points ahead at the moment. With an equal sprint result tomorrow, Duda will make up a maximum of 60 points (since she has a 481 and Bruna a 421 that can be pushed out). If that's the case, Bruna is 81 points ahead after tomorrow's race, which already means Duda would need a 181 classic result even if Bruna doesn't start/finish/score on Sunday. Of course with every point Bruna gets under 281 on Sunday, Duda would need to get under 181 in the classic. Again, that is all in case they come up with equal points tomorrow. It could be 99% decided in tomorrow's race, but who knows. Start at 10:04 and 10:06, live timing here: https://www.protiming.ch/rr-live-658.aspx Nerves....this is it.
  3. It's weird, normally at least FIS has it on their website, but...nothing. Their Olympic schedule is less detailed than that of a Continental Cup And on the official Beijing website, the trial round for the ski jumping is listed, even though - unlike the PCR - that is really nothing more than a training.
  4. Where is the full schedule? And this time Totallympics doesn't help out @hckoĆĄice There is this: But that also doesn't show the entire schedule. I need the provisional competition rounds in my schedule
  5. Huge favourites....not sure, several teams are simply too strong to mention one single team as the huge favourite in my opinion. But they absolutely should be among the main favourites, no doubt. I went for 6 golds, by the way. M 1000 M 1500/5000/10.000 M team pursuit/mass start W 1000/1500 W 3000/5000 W mass start/team pursuit As always, it can go many ways. We don't need to see any huge surprises to end up with the Netherlands getting 9 gold medals...or 2.
  6. Not without some promise though, to be fair. It's not exactly the heyday of Canadian XC skiing, but I'd say there's hope.
  7. Project Cedars of God is going well (not Bogota-level well, but still) https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=49756&seasoncode=2022 I sure wonder why this Czech with his 50 FIS points is competing in Lebanon of all places........
  8. Is there a full schedule available yet somewhere? Both the official website and Wiki don't show the start times for each run, but show something like this: I want to know which run starts when, like in the IBSF previews:
  9. I do assume the actual races are here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedars_Ski_Resort But wow, this 'Cedars of God' makes for interesting reading. Apart from being stunningly beautiful, it is also entirely rich with history, thousands of years back!
  10. As mentioned in the IBU Cup thread....she was a DNS there today. I wondered if maybe, just maybe she would try another cross-country race, with the Argentina-organized races in Lebanon (Cedars) by far being the 'easiest' option in terms of results (maybe not so much in terms of travel). And guess what....
  11. Hmm...I wonder.... https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=49756&seasoncode=2022 Who knows? Edit: Wow, mind = blown Look at this!
  12. It's on the FIS website now, so I'll count the points. And I was 100% correct Which means this is now the new situation, with that dreadful Engadin horror show finally gone! Mika is 2 points ahead, but doesn't have the sub-300 sprint average and doesn't seem likely to get that, so that shouldn't matter much. Even if somehow she does get it, Bruna still has much more space to improve her results with Zlatibor tomorrow and a sprint and classic in Switzerland in the weekend. Duda still has a 481 sprint she can improve in Switzerland, but if Bruna and Duda score somewhat similar points in the three races that are left, Bruna ends up 80-100 points in front of her anyway. That is, with equal points, but as we saw today it's far from unlikely that Bruna gets better points. At least it's finally back in her own hands now!
  13. I have no idea, but once everyone was on the start list, I tried to stop thinking about that part
  14. If my calculations are correct (and luckily this season so far they generally are), that should result in these points: Jaque 103,36 Bruna 186,36 Mika 218,28 Duda 241,58 Putting Bruna roughly 140 points ahead of Duda in the internal ranking now (I'll wait a little with that until the points are on the FIS website and I enter them in my table)!
  15. A day earlier one was 26 minutes behind due to a 10 minute penalty. This penalty was a 5-time 2-minute penalty for this: Considering he had five 'misses' in the standing shooting, I wonder....has he simply skied straight through the shooting range instead of even standing in a position to shoot?! https://ibu.blob.core.windows.net/docs/2122/BT/SIBU/CP04/SMSP/C73B_v1.pdf
  16. Hubertus getting DSQ'ed in a racefixing race, dude.
  17. Q-School The opponent, a German (at least on paper), might have been 'playing' for someone else. If you had a throw, you're officially in and allowed to play in the Challenge Tour. After Van Dongen translated the situation of his 'opponent' to the referee (English/German language barrier), the German gave him a beer and left
  18. She got a 242 or so in Campra, maybe she thinks one sub-300 is enough? I mean, that'd be very poor reading of the rules, but I can't think of another explanation other than "Nah never mind, don't want to go anyway"... Who knows, maybe if this doesn't work out for Ponya and Hungary has to give back their quota, that one and Thailand's second spot are the first two returned spots on the way to a third Brazilian ticket, possibly making this whole mess of the past two months a moot point
  19. All other Brazilians are on there as well (two of whom are still on their way from Poland), which should mean that the federation won't suddenly decide not to count these races. You never know, but that seems good...
  20. Mind you, the races in Switzerland alone in the weekend (a sprint and a 5k classic) might even be enough to make it even without the Serbia races, which by itself would be more of a performance than most gold medals won during the Olympics considering this effort to work against her...
  21. Just in case, does anyone know specifically what would be needed for a case at CAS?
  22. Wonderful. The next step is that the rest of the team is suddenly also going to Serbia.....which they explicitly said they wouldn't, and so was nothing but another sabotaging move. Thing is, they are too late with the entries (because of the earlier situation in which the federation didn't register anyone), and if they are indeed not allowed to start, according to the federation....neither is Bruna (allowed to start). Which would mean she would have gone to Serbia for literally nothing, other than to miss a race where she could have scored decent points (Zakopane) due to the federation/coach's moves. This is getting more unbelievable every day, seriously.
  23. Sprint results in Zakopane: 292.28 for Duda, replacing her 608 points. 358.66 for Mika, replacing a 394 (but not getting significantly closer to ending up with a sprint average of under 300, and so not much changed there) Duda now passed Bruna and is 220 points or so ahead, but she was expected to do so after erasing the 608 points in the sprint. Just like Bruna will normally erase her 648 points in a distance race the first chance she gets (which should be tomorrow). Duda's main point of improvement now is a 481 sprint and a 333 distance, for Bruna it's a 648 distance and 421 sprint.
  24. Damn. Also ran in the 4x400m final in Tokyo (where Trinidad was doing well until St Hillaire got injured
