  1. Roman Kostomarov, 2006 Olympic ice dance champion, has had both his feet and hands amputated as a consequence of COVID infection (which lead to necrosis in his limbs). Damn.
  2. Good to see most top athletes are skipping it. The Invisible World Cup due to that broadcast rights bullshit, so we're not really missing much it seems
  3. That's actually true. He even did so without a rifle, he just stared at the targets for a bit and they decided to all go down.
  4. Nearly every semi-major earthquake in the world ever is 'predicted' by a guy who picks somewhat sensitive areas and says there could one day be an earthquake
  5. Absolutely, I meant the 'most medals' thing is a bit of a commentator's hype in a sport where events are added all the time Obviously nobody was going to win 5+ medals in a time when there were 4 events. Winning every single event is the opposite in those terms: more events means it only gets harder and so, purely statistically, is an even better performance.
  6. Before I start checking results, I'll just ask to be sure: there was no stream or anything of today's men's giant slalom qualifying, right? I don't see it on Eurosport's online stuff, at least. I'd have loved to see all the exotic skiers, but yeah
  7. That would be a significantly hype-worthy thing, yes Always hard to really compare athletes from different types and with different opposition of course, but stats are stats and it might make for a nice little fun fact
  8. And then we'll get the 'Most gold medals at a single world championships ever!' hype and such Right, just forgetting that more and more events are being added all the time and so winning more medals is 'easier', but alright
  9. Drama for Anna Weidel
  10. And two more misses for Darcie
  11. First two misses for Darcie
  12. The second Öberg came out of the last shooting with 5 hits, Persson's chance was basically gone
  13. Darcie starting with 0+0
  14. 00.30 if I'm not mistaken. I'll be recording it tonight and watch it before work. Going to sleep in a few minutes and waking up 4am or so, I can deal with that, but unfortunately tomorrow is the one day per two weeks in which I have to work at the office, so I can't really be falling half asleep after staying up the entire night
  15. I could say "Ha, what an idiot", but if you hadn't posted this, I would not have noticed at all
  16. Whereas Johannes shoots with some machine sniper rifle, Finello was more like....
  17. Oh man, talk about programs I miss on TV
  18. Slgihtly fast shooting for Johannes.
  19. Rastorgujevs diving into the nets head first.
  20. Norway looking good for a medal here.
  21. Simon definitely deserves a world title this season.
  22. Yevhen Marusiak won the Continental Cup competition in Klingenthal today, becoming - as far as I can find - the first ever Ukrainian on any significant international podium, let alone a win! https://medias1.fis-ski.com/pdf/2023/JP/3316/2023JP3316RL.pdf
  23. Arnekleiv is not misusing the faith so far
  24. Helicopter protocol and such, he's been transported off now so we've just gotten back underway.
