  1. Not a good start for Sablikova...not good at all, come on.
  2. Grandma with her fastest time in 6 years East-Germany's last product
  3. Pechstein back in the country where she started her international career.....in 1988 I have a feeling she's gonna troll her way to the podium.
  4. Fantastic finish between Isabelle Weidemann and Carien Kleibeuker 6:59.75 vs 6:59.79 with young Weidemann winning and getting under 7 minutes for the first time And damn, talk about a well-paced race!
  5. Huge personal best 7:03 for Zueva This is going to go very, very fast later on. I'm predicting well under 6:50 for Sablikova
  6. At the speed skating on Dutch TV they just showed a bit of an overview of the venue, and apparently the speed skating and short track (and figure skating) venues are right next to the Olympic village
  7. The best one (Although probably I'll be more interested in the women's cross-country) I guess I'll need to get myself a VISA credit card?
  8. Which raises a new question: how does an ice hockey team withdrawing lead to two other nations participating in other sports? Or are "Bahrain withdrew" and "Jordan and Uzbekistan are confirmed to compete" to separate things that have nothing to do with one another?
  9. Here we go, another four distances. Women's 5000m: Sablikova going for her 9th consecutive gold, utterly incredibly. Probably Kleibeuker vs De Jong for silver. Men's 1000m: Nuis could finally not choke when it matters and do what he should do today, which is win. Verbij is the big guy for silver, with a whole bunch of people like Davis, Lorentzen, De Haitre, Mantia etc close behind. Women's 1000m: That should be Bergsma for the gold, with Leenstra, Zhang, Kodaira behind her. Men's 10.000m: Promises to be one of the most awesome fights of the championships: Bloemen in pair 4 (WR-holder), Kramer in pair 5, Bergsma in pair 6...the suggestion of a world record is all over the media.
  10. How does one withdrawal lead to two additions?
  11. They're showing live sports every day? I love the Olympic Channel! I remember the last EYOF (summer I think) where we were F5'ing some very vague site to see if they had added results with all sports and heats and finals thrown together in one big pile....now we'll have a good results system + coverage
  12. At least the good news is they are using the same kind of results system Every major multi-event should just use that instead of their own fancy stuff where finding things is impossible. Good thing about this system is you just go to blabla.sportresult.com and you never have to set foot on the usually awful event sites anymore
  13. Goodbye.
  14. She's ill for the 126th time this season and has to miss the world champs
  15. Like what happens at every Olympics, sort of...
  16. Koukalova, go away
  17. In this shape Italy has a very much medal-worthy women's relay team.
  18. Lauraaaaa
  19. Lara has torn her ACL http://www.blick.ch/sport/ski/wm/schweizer-ski-star-verletzt-sich-beim-einfahren-lara-gut-mit-helikopter-ins-spital-geflogen-id6201130.html
  20. Nice shooting for Hinz
  21. 0+0 for Sloof
  22. Let's go Chardine, let's go Laura, let's go Vicky
  23. Awesome to see Kircheisen finally get a win again, I still really hope he'll win a major gold medal in his impressive career. Too bad though that even when the two dominators aren't there, Watabe still doesn't win
  24. Yeah, you know, if they didn't replace her they would have one athlete less, so it's good tactical thinking
  25. Oh yeah, I totally forgot my bets, I was just cheering for Switzerland this time
