  1. se scrivessi ciò che penso, qualcuno morirebbe fulminato all'istante e io verrei coperto di denunce e querele... quindi mi linito a ribadire che sono più che schifato dall'intera vicenda...
  2. well, in this case things are a lot clearer now... they just knew what was going to happen and decided to avoid the damage...
  3. the troll is everywhere... https://www.nhl.com/news/pk-subban-dances-at-nickelodeon-kids-choice-sports-awards/c-299548096?tid=281396148 https://www.nhl.com/news/short-shifts-nhl-19-video-game-animations-based-off-cover-athlete-pk-subban/c-299579038?tid=281396148 please, stop him!!! stop him now!!!!! p.s. dedicated to @hckosice https://www.nhl.com/news/marko-dano-agrees-to-one-year-contract-with-winnipeg-jets/c-299526222?tid=281072352
  4. I don't know if the pools are purely based on ranking or if they have more groups based on ranking and then they make an actual draw within those (at the world champs rules could be different from world cup stages)... the only thing I know for sure is that the top 16 of the WR are exempted from the pools and the preliminary draw, but this isn't Rahbari's case, so I guess it's a useless info... I'm gonna try to see if I can figure this thing out...
  5. just to know what we should expect in 2 years time... https://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/993592/japan-heatwave-2018-natural-disaster-death-toll-tokyo-weather-forecast good luck to all those who have to compete outdoor at the next Olympics (especially marathon runners and 50km race walkers)...
  6. I don't think there was a Israel draw for him, since all the preliminary pools but 1 had 7 fencers (the max allowed) and the one that only had 6 didn't have any Israeli at the start (actually the ref of that pool was from Iran, so it means that there were no Iranian athletes scheduled there in any case)... I really don't know why Rahbari didn't start in the individual event...maybe he has a slight injury and the team officials decided to save him for the team event (especially considering that he's not the best specialist and he didn't have many chances to go deep in the individual competition)...
  7. in the meantime, also the men's team epee and the women's team foil have reach the quarterfinals stage, which will follow tomorrow... and Italy will be there in both events, thanks to a lucky, very lucky ending of the assault against Spain in the last 16, when first we wasted a 4 hit-lead in the final seconds of regulation, but then we won in the OT (by the way, it all happened because of our usual suicidal tactics of "killing" all the early assaults and rely only on the last one )... men's team epee quarterfinals France vs United States Switzerland vs Italy South Korea vs Hungary Russia vs China women's team foil quarterfinals Italy vs Japan France vs Germany United States vs Canada Russia vs South Korea
  8. day #4 and final no. 4 (5th medal overall)...just an ordinary day at the office for Italy... no, today it wasn't an ordinary day...with all the pressure on their shoulders, our sabre guys did something really remarkable...first, they literally destroyed Russia (and just that wasn't expected, and especially not by this margin), then they took care of the hungry and angry Hungarians, so far the most disappointing fencing powerhouse at these world champs... so, our guys made up for both the disappointing performance in their own individual competition and also for the shameful absence of the epee girls from the top 8 tableau (they ended up in 9th place at the end)... now it's gonna need a miracle to beat the mighty Koreans, who seem to be in the shape of their life (as the whole team, since also the epee girls from Korea surprisingly reached the Gold Medal match earlier today), but still we can say this was a positive day for us, in any case...

  12. women's team epee quarterfinals China b. Germany 45-36 South Korea b. France 45-40 Russia b. Poland 38-37 United States b. Estonia 24-23
  13. c'mon! don't get greedy...I grew up when the Soviet Union was regularly slapping our team...being 9-1 up against RUS with just a few minutes to play is something I could have never imagined (even when drunk) at that time... let me enjoy the wind of change (cit.)
  14. and you get diabetis... age and genetic factors can't be ignored...you can only manage that problems with medicines (losing weight helps, but it's not the definitive solution)...
  15. the article is more an expample of how stupid and arrogant are those idiots of NADO Italia... that woman is a baby's doctor (pediatra), 55 years old and with blood pressure recognized issues (as many people of that age, especially here in Italy, where we like to eat spicy and salty food)... she obviously takes medicines for that, she's only guilty not to have claimed her usual TUE when she had one of the last doping tests... and she was also declared "not guilty" in the first pronounciation, but NADO Italia insisted that a warning wasn't enough and appealed that decision until in the second degree she was disqualified for 8 months... that's how it worls NADO Italia...and that's why you always see our flag at the top of this shame ranking... p.s. by the way, the substance is named Clortalidone (which is a diuretic regularly used to calm down blood pressure)... p.p.s. I also use a medicine like that (a different one, but still...it's one of my numerous TUEs)...
  16. wow! what a show! I've never seen Italy playing so well (and with no mercy for the opponents)... but I'm sure that Croatia and/or Serbia have the technical and mental weapons to put us under pressure...
  17. by the way, at the end of the day we have 2 surprising winners, Foconi and Pozdniakova and even more surprising medallists like Stone, Llavador and Heo... Italy remains on top of the world's foil and Russia saved the face after 5 below-par competitions... and finally, I want to remark how it looks we are back to the 20th Century, with that shameful 30-min delay of the streaming, which makes it impossible to appreciate (especially if you also look at live score)... stop organizing global sport events in China!!!
  18. Funding cuts are involved into this, but there's also an internal feud... British Fencing didn't approve his choice to train with the London-based Pole Wojciewski and not within the federal circles and he reacted by leaving the team events (moreover, his relationship with J.A. Davis are not that good -I've read an interview where it was said that the Errigo vs Di Francisca dispute is nothing compared to theirs, another fact which helped him to take this decision)...
  19. good job, Alessio! half the damage is done, now the last step...c'mon, man!
  20. by the way, Velikaya vs Egorian...
  21. it's not a disaster..but still it's a disappointing outcome, especially when 2 other people waste such a chance against clearly weaker opponents... frankly, once getting to that specific quarterfinals situation, it was absolutely normal to expect 3 Italians among the top 4...and as it didn't happen, it's also absolutely normal being unhappy (I'm pretty sure that Avola and Garozzo are the first to blame themselves for those losses and even more because at a certain point they looked in control of thier respective assaults)... now let's hope that Foconi doesn't imitate his teammates and "fills his contract" by winning that fu**in' Gold medal...
  22. shame! shame! shame! on Garozzo and Avola...they literally threw a medal away against no-name fencers... by the way, quite a lot of surprises also in both today's events...not our usual World Champ (it's the Chinese jinx, of course)...
  23. in the meantime, the team events of the women's epee and of the men's sabre have been completed... and as expected, the Italian Epee girls are already out (they lost to Germany in the round of last 16)... tomorrow those events will start directly from the quarterfinals, as they are: women's team epee China vs Germany South Korea vs France Russia vs Poland Estonia vs United States men's team sabre South Korea vs France Georgia vs Iran Hungary vs Germany Italy vs Russia
