  1. possibly, yes... but at the moment there's no sign of that on the Italian Federation's website... probably they're going to activate a link when the competition starts... I'm going to keep an eye on their site, just in case... by the way, here's the Live Scoring page... https://www.fencingtimelive.com/tournaments/eventSchedule/CC8C13B792344BCFB7E3434E2B77EBD3?lang=en-US#today

  5. you know, I think that certain things can't and shouldn't be changed... such long time existing events like the Olympics must follow the flow they've always been following... they're made of and for a certain kind of people, of and for a certain kind of audience and they should exist only if and until those people are there to justify their existence... meanwhile if you want to look for something else, just build some new events tailored on the "new" audience you're "stalking"...new places, new disciplines, new rules new targeted markets and people around...that's the only way to capture all the attention and have success... it's not a house you can renovate and rejuvenate with only a few partial works...here it's about an ancient monument that has to be preserved as much as close as the original building on one side and a completely new complexe that should be built from the foundings to the roof with all new stuff on the other side (and then, just then find the way for both to co-exist in the same environment)... there's no way you can have all the modern technology if you live in a 16th Century Castle...gotta build a new house and let the old place to those who are still OK with the old habits...
  6. moreover, I just can't imagine what's gonna happen now with the qualification first and the actual competion of Tokyo 2020 then... I mean, now everybody knows this is going to be just a one shot, one-hit wonder...and I fear that many bad things are gonna happen behind the scenes to ensure a spot first and a medal then, with no chance to make up for anything getting missed on this only Olympic appearance of the sport...
  7. please, don't wait for the Olympics to visit Versailles...just go there and enjoy that wonderful place as soon as you can...you won't never regret spending a long weekend out there (even without a sport event surrounding your trip, actually, it would be better if you're free to live the experience without any further "distraction")...
  8. no, not at all... they should undestand that those kids are definitely NOT interested in watching anything on TV, they hate any sort of "rule" and "burocracy" (which any sport competition is basically about...you just can't have a competition without them)... they've never been, thay are not and they're never gonna be the "Olympic audience"... the IOC must not search for a new kind of audience, they should only enforce and make happier and more loyal those who already are their long time fanbase (which is the most antithetical people you could imagine if compared to the target of stupid things like "gender equality" and above all "urban & youth")... it's exactly the same mistake the American baseball is doing with their core audience...they're trying to destroy the game as it's always been to look for people who was never into it and never will be...and the only result they're getting it's that they're losing fans among their usual fanbase and they're not finding what they're looking for among the possible new markets... in long terms, that's just the route to self-destruction...
  9. oh, by the way...on the trend topic in general...I'm totally disgusted and I wish IOC and Paris 2024 an epic fail... I'm really tired of this sh*t...if they go on like that, my uninterrupted true and deep 36-year love for the Games is going to end once and forever... fu*k them all...Paris organizers, French NOC and IOC as well...
  10. 3 years ago he said he would likely get the Italian citizenship and play for our NT... the news is that now he finally completed the burocratic tasks and got his Italian passport, so from now he could play for Italy...
  11. I'm more in favor of the opposite politics...Countries that don't allow political and religious freedom and don't host all the athletes who want to compete in a given event, shouldn't host any sport event at all...point.
  12. quite interesting results in today's competition, with many boys and girls already among the main contenders in the cadet events also dominating the junior ranks, but with significant shake up of names...

  16. here we go... after so many rumors that didn't prove reliable, finally Manny "mr. Nice" Machado signed a record-breaking deal with the San Diego Padres...300 million US $ for 10 years (an opt-out and a partial no-trade clauses included)... this is the largest free agent contract ever in the MLB... https://www.mlb.com/news/manny-machado-deal-with-padres/c-304157722?tid=282421090 https://www.mlb.com/news/largest-contracts-in-mlb-history/c-300060780?tid=282421090 and now, let's see what comes up with the other expected free agent superstar, Bryce Harper (just another "mr. Nice" by himself )... p.s. just 1 day to go to the official opening of the Spring Training...

  19. no, of course...but sometimes the maniac inside me takes the lead and makes me watch more women's events rather than men's (especially when we talk about surfing, beach volleyball)...
  20. for instance, now you might see that I have changed the first post after the semifinals results are known... then, later tonight, I'm gonna post the final results and medal table, changing the original posts once again (whitout having to write them again from 0)...
  21. it's very simple...at that precise moment, there are still 4 people (all those qualified for the semifinals) who could win any medal...so I put their names already into the post at any possible level...and once you know who's in the final, you can let those 2 playing for gold and silver and have the other 2 stuck with the bronze medals... finally, after the end of the competition, I put the right names into their respective spot... it's just a way to keep up with the infos without having to write 3 or 4 different posts with the same names and flags inside (and a way to save some time...I just can't spend all of my day on this forum)...
  22. so, you've been lucky... I watched quite a few WSL women's events in the past couple of years and most times there were very long awaits between one ride and another in the same heat...or just a 20-min of nothing and then all the action in the last 5 mins, which didn't prove too exciting for me... maybe I should start watching men's competitions, too... but, you know, the sport itself it's not the only (nor the main, I fear) reason to watch surf...therefore it's difficult for me to watch the boys instead of the girls...
