  1. some of them are very intelligible (and I like them), some others are just incomprehensible (and I don't like them, despite the effort of the designers). my top picks are Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Track Cycling, Fencing and Rowing. I also appreciate Boxing, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Tennis and Weightlifting. anything else is from meh! to WTF is that?
  2. I don't think he has a World Champs medal, yet 🤔 surely he was the first on the podium of a world cup race in that age group.
  3. earlier this morning, ACL in training for Lara Colturi. Most likely, knee surgery and a long break from skiing coming for her.
  4. 2/10 of a second actually... just fixed the correct result.

  11. not exactly about the sport part of the discipline, but still... Stefano Ghisolfi has opened the way named Excalibur, in Drena (Italian region of Trentino), the one and only 9b+ class route in Italy, the most difficult in our Country. https://www.oasport.it/2023/02/arrampicata-stefano-ghisolfi-libera-excalibur-via-di-grado-9b/?refresh_ce
  12. not really surprised... I think most people ready to begin the season in the USA don't want to spend a while thousends miles away to play the WBC. if we were playing in a US-based group, most likely we would have a much more competitive team. still, I hope to be able to watch some good, exciting baseball instead of that thing named Spring Training.
  13. Official Starting List https://live.fis-ski.com/lv-al0071.htm?t=1675716136#/follow
  14. actually, it was his new team that forced him to withdraw because of his elbow operation last year. they want him to be at the Spring training rather than playing competitive matches at WBC. p.s. I like him, I'm a true fan of plastic man
  15. Jordan Romano pulled out of the Italian team for the WBC traitor!!! wish him a Tommy John in the next few weeks
  16. https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/17498-athletics-2023-discussion-thread/page/8/#elControls_526396_menu https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/17366-judo-ijf-world-tour-2023/page/2/#elControls_526003_menu
  17. I think this is only the beginning...the list is going to be enlarged quite soon. yeah, we'll see how it develops. however, first the IJF lifting any kind of ban against & , then this one... if I were Ukranian, I wouldn't have a good feeling right now...
  18. Mixed Team 25m Rapid Fire Pistol and Men's Team 25m Rapid Fire Pistol competitions have been cancelled because of lack of participants. therefore, this first Rifle & Pistol World Cup stage is over. next stop, in Cairo from February 17th through to February 24th, always with the Rifle & Pistol specialists.
  19. Mixed Team 50m 3-Position Rifle Gold: Switzerland 1 Silver: Switzerland 2 Bronze: Kazakhstan 2 Final Ranking and Results https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=17507
  20. FIS points for sure... most likely, some financial support by their respective NF, too then, I don't know what else might be at stake for them, if not the personal pride of being among the top 10/15 of a world competition.
  21. https://worldathletics.org/news/press-releases/ana-approval-russia-february-2023 6 Russian athletes have been reinstated to the international competitions as Neutral Athletes (ANA) from Tomorrow by World Athletics: Danil Chechela and Artem Chermoshanskiy (men's Long Jump) Maksim Pianzin (men's Race Walking) Nikita Anishchenkov and Nikita Kurbanov (men's High Jump) Marina Kovaleva (women's Long Distance Running)
  22. by the way, now this is going to be an easy gold for Shiffrin. Gritsch now might be the favourite to the silver medal and Brignone hopefully could hold up to Holdener and Gisin's attempts to comeback (especially Wendy).
  23. all the combined events are a joke to me... in the modern era, the speed disciplines and slalom are basically 2 different sports. trying to mix them up, it's a senseless and useless attempt, just a way to multiply the number of medals awarded and increase the tv time to make athletes and sponsors happy. and the same goes for parallel and team events (which moreover are also unfair, as there's no track where the 2 sides are even close to being equal). imho, the 4 individual events (slalom, GS, superG and DH) are more than enough. and not having more farcical events, would make them even more important, as there would be less people capable of calling themselves World (Olympic) Champion.
  24. I didn't know he is one of that kind...I thought he was a somehow reasonable scientist... it looks I was wrong big time, so...he's just a catastrophist looking for worldwide attention...
  25. Holdener not so well... the slalom stint might be more interesting than expected (at least for silver & bronze).
