we don't have any other option since Sanfilippo was left out of the Biathlon team and Passler is totally useless on this kind of track and snow (too heavy and too much out of shape)... our plan is as simple as it looks: Comola is somehow more reliable than Auchentaller in the shooting range, so we hope she can limit the damage before Wierer hopefully makes the difference (I'm dreaming, I know), giving Auchentaller a small margin to keep our team in contention for something worth the effort before Vittozzi's final leg.

first ever win by Klimkait vs Deguchi in a IJF international tournament (head-to-head matchups were 6-0 in favor of Deguchi before Yesterday). tbh, Deguchi was doing better than her rival and the she was heavily penalized by an injury to a hand, she couldn't grab Klimkait sleeves anymore after that. no comment about the Italians in day #1 of the tournament. they basically missed the Paris Grand Slam to focus on this event and we came out with just a miserable bronze medal (thanks to the usual suspect Giuffrida, who lost once again vs Giles in the semifinal match ). the only encouraging performances came from Rio 2016 Olympic Champion Fabio Basile (who made his comeback after a long injury break in the -66kg class -which he left after Rio- and lost in the first round against the eventual winner Margvelashvili only after 3 mins into the GS period and after scoring a waza-ari against him in regulation) and youngster Veronica Toniolo (women's -57kg), who beat Telma Monteiro in rd#1 and then lost after 4 mins into the GS period by 3rd shido vs Daria Bilodid after actually dominating the fight.

Jacobs "only" 6.64 in the heats, final comin'up in a couple of minutes. good results for 2 more Italians...Claudio Stecchi finally cleared 5.82m (new indoor NR, second only to Duplantis in the event) after 2 years out of the competitions because of many injuries, meanwhile Leonardo Fabbri got 21.53m in the men's shot put in Belgrade, beating all the big guys from the former Jugoslavija. and Omanyala beat Jacobs (first loss in a 60m race in 3 years) 6.54 for the Kenian and 6.57 for the 100m Olympic champion (same time of last week in Lodz for him).

yeah, but at least with this method it's not unfair. imho, in Snowboard they should have 2 runs in the knockout stage, meanwhile in alpine skiing they could well get rid of this race...

well, this time it wasn't an issue, as the clockings on the red and blue course were counted only between themselves. there was no comparison between what happened on the other course, even if one was clearly faster than the other.

tbh, today's team event was held on a perfectly fair course for the first time ever (snowboard included). the only problem came out late in the semis and finals, when a couple of gates of the red course were slightly more ruined and therefore the last 3 gates looked slower than the blue course, but it was more a feeling than actual issue. tonight's quali of the individual parallel slalom were held on a different track and we were back to the usual disparity between red and blue, but the rules just made it a non problem, since the entire qualification was structured on completely separate timings between the 2 tracks. therefore no injustice was done, as only clockings on the same course were compared between each other. tomorrow we'll be back on the fair track (used basically only for the parallel competitions).
