  1. The quota places are directed to the NOC, not the athletes, so the NOCs have the option to select shooters at their own right. Stanco won the quota in the women's trap, but the Italian Clay Target Shooting Association picked Rossi to occupy the slot because she had a more outstanding feat throughout the qualifying period. Same case happened to the Americans. George Norton won the quota in the men's 50 m rifle 3 positions, but the place has been awarded to Matt Emmons instead because of the point system set by Team USA Shooting.
  2. Shooting: Narang already qualified in the 50 m rifle prone, and Rossi will definitely compete for Rio 2016. In fact, Rossi has already been selected to the Italian team, so she's indeed safe. Moldoveanu is most likely competing for the Games, because Romania will have an opportunity to accept one of the unused berths from ISSF, and the NOC will definitely select him because of his outstanding feat from London 2012. The shooters who will be absent for the Games are the ff: Martynov (unless he is selected), Cox (no chance because Belgium has a quota in men's trap), Debevec, Tesconi, and Zlatic.
  3. Do you guys know when will the Indian shooters be selected to the Olympic team for Rio 2016?
  4. What if Cuba has already claimed a spot in the men's lightweight double sculls, knowing that Angel Fournier also competes in the men's single sculls with a top six finish at the Worlds?
  5. Because Algeria is most unlikely to compete in the 49er and 49erFX, I assumed that the unused African quota would be distributed to Belgium and Ireland. I just also heard that a NZ might deny a slot in men's RS:X, since JP Tobin has decided to quit his Rio campaign, citing lack of funding support from Yachting NZ. http://home.nzcity.co.nz/news/article.aspx?id=222875
  6. Egypt is also competing in Nacra 17. So we have 3 African nations.
  7. Why? What are the changes that differ the swimming selection policy for the upcoming Rio 2016 from London 2012?
  8. Here is schedule of selection trials and procedures for the Games set by the following NOCs: United States – U.S. Olympic Trials (June 26 to July 3) – Lincoln, Nebraska (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT) Canada – Canadian Olympic Trials (April 5 to 10) – Toronto (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT) Great Britain – British Swimming Championships (April 12 to 17) – Glasgow (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT) France – French Elite Open Championships (March 29 to April 3) – Montpellier (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT and the federation's entry standard) Spain – Spanish Open Championships (March 19 to 22) – Sabadell (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT and the federation's entry standard) Germany – German Olympic Trials (May 5 to 8) – Berlin (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT) Some of the following NOCs have different selection meets: Italy (top 2 finish in each individual event with an OQT and the federation's entry standard – for Nationals and Sette Colli only) Italian National Championships (May 5 to 8) – Riccione European Championships (May 16 to 22) – London Sette Colli Trophy (June 24 to 26) – Rome
  9. But do you know when will the Croatians be able to select them? I assume the selections will happen next month, unless they'll keep the places and then hand them over to the potential shooters who may deserve a chance to be selected based on the results at the Olympic test event, or the World Cup meet in Munich and Baku.
  10. Unfortunately, not. Valentina Gustin and Tanja Perec won the places in the 10 m air rifle, while Snjezana Pejcic had done so in the 50 rifle 3 positions. Am I right? How will the Croatians do that, especially when we know the shooter who attains the highest MQS? Please check. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_–_Qualification
  11. How will Croatia be able to select shooters for the Games? Assumingly, Snjezana Pejcic might become a double starter in one of two places won by the Croatians in the women's 10 m air rifle. I just need to know.
  12. Hello everyone! Who frequently edits the Wikipedia pages related to Olympics, especially on the NOC pages for the upcoming Games? A user named Sportsfan 1234 harassed me about my updates on bolding the numbers, and that user kept on warning me more than anybody else pertaining to the issue. I may ask you guys a question. Is it appropriate to use the ff. models for the infobox country template on the number of competitors? For example: Aruba at the 2016 Competitors 4 in 1 sport (Sportsfan 1234 assumed that it does not follow the MOS) Competitors 4 in 1 sport (bolding on the number of sports has been disregarded) Competitors 4 No. of Sports 1
  13. Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez has been listed in the bantamweight division, and he's the defending Olympic champion. I thought Cuba has already selected its boxer Andy Cruz Gomez in that division at the Games. How come?
  14. Thanks! Post the selection procedures as well for all the sports, so we would like to know. I assure that Canadian athletes will be selected in the track and field and swimming through the Olympic trials. I do not know for the rest.
  15. Kindly post the list of athletes selected to the Canadian Olympic team and the selection procedures of each sport for clarification purposes. Thank you!
  16. South Korea has already qualified in the men's RS:X through the 2015 Worlds. Thailand and Indonesia are vying for the two Olympic spots in that event.
  17. I just noticed that six sailors have already been selected to the Australian Olympic team for Rio 2016. How will the nation choose its sailors for the rest of the classes? Kindly explain.
  18. Laser standard (Francesco Marrai) http://www.coni.it/it/news/primo-piano/11245-rio-2016-scelto-francesco-marrai-per-la-laser-standard.html
  19. Kindly post the Olympic selection process and updates for India in shooting. And when will they announce the entire team?
  20. Selection updates for Rio 2016: GREAT BRITAIN - Ben Saxton & Nicola Groves (Nacra 17) ITALY - Francesco Marrai (Laser)
  21. Kindly post the list of athletes selected to the Australian Olympic team and the selection procedures of each sport for clarification purposes. Thank you!
  22. Hmm. Perhaps the sprint and keirin has not updated the results yet from the Worlds. Something's wrong.
  23. Source pls?
  24. Same here. Especially in shooting since the qualifying process has already been done.
