  1. yes he is a married to Tanja Tanackovic, former Serbia NT member. he will be 33 in Paris and he was on decline since "the Rio disaster" but who knows maybe this big change helps him. sometimes it does. he was destroying everybody in peak of his career. people can see how dominant Milad Beigi is currently but Khodabakhshi beat him handily in 2015 in Iranian trials. Khodabakhshi in his prime days was even better than current Beigi. but nobody knows what happened to him in Rio and after that.
  2. she even won a bronze but that wasn't enough for the quota at the time ! yes I think she is more talented than her teammates in Iran women's pistol team. specially Golnoush who has a history of choking in crucial moments. she still has one last chance in women's 25m pistol though.
  3. actually it was another Iranian girl Dorsa Arabshahi who won the gold ahead of Rostamian and the rest. Golnoush (I have to call her by her first name, she has quite a LONG surname ) wasn't in Naples. as we know Shooting is unpredictable, that girl Arabshahi didn't even make the Iranian team for this event !
  4. summary of medals today Men's 10m Air Rifle 1. Liu Yukun 2. Yu Haonan 3. Deepak Kumar Men's 10m Air Rifle Team 1. China 2. South Korea 3. Iran Women's 10m Air Rifle 1. Yang Qian 2. Tessa Neo 3. June Eun-Hea Women's 10m Air Rifle Team 1. South Korea 2. India 3. Iran Women's 10m Air Pistol 1. Manu Bhaker 2. Wang Qian 3. Jiang Ranxin Women's 10m Air Pistol Team 1. South Korea 2. China 3. India Mixed Trap Team Junior 1. India 2. China 3. China
  5. Mehdi Khodabakhshi officially confirmed he is going to participate for Serbia, and if you check the WT ranking. from this month he is listed for Serbia. it seems his mother in law has cancer and his wife can't live anywhere else but Serbia. he says he still needs few more month to be eligible for Serbia but his goal is to win a medal at the 2024 Olympics (2020 is not possible for him) the news about Khodabakshhi came to Iran only today and it made the headlines everywhere . seriously Iranian media are always behind. I knew about it a week ago. anyway good luck to Khodabakhshi and thanks for everything.
  6. Happy for Rostamian but then again Japan denied Iran another quota Golnoush is even tied with the Japanese shooter but Yamada has more Xs it was very close between non-qualified shooters
  7. Quotas in 10m Air Pistol Women
  8. I can see that now too. but it wasn't working as "live score" during the finals. well since Iran failed it was better to see the final score instead of watching live score for something like 20minutes but at least we are collecting all team bronze medals
  9. Are u you telling me women's scores are always higher (in standing events) ? I'm not sure if that's correct but at least here it was a huge difference, as I said 627.3 (could be 3rd in men) didn't make it to the final after all.
  10. comparing men and women results. 627.3 could be 3rd best result in men's qualifiers, but this is very possible for Khedmati with that score to miss the final
  11. I knew Iran finished 7th (from our local sources) but I was wondering if it's just me having problem with SIUS btw I always knew Iran will be the first unqualified shooter damn you Japan. just stick to your own host quota.
  12. ah I knew it btw how do you have the final results ? I can't see anything about the finals on SIUS. to me it's still only the qualification results
  13. Surprised to see Iran having competitors in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol. that's the first time. as far as I knew that event didn't exist here because of lack of equipment. and Iranians aren't the worst shooters in the competition. (not that far from that though) I was hoping for Nekounam to qualify , but now we have Sedaghat in the final. we will see ...
  14. Last day of Greco 60kg: 1. Melikyan 2. Sharshenbekov 3. Mohsennejad & Petrosian 67kg: 1. El Sayed 2. Liavonchyk 3. Imentalab & Politaiev 72kg: 1. Geraei 2. Suleymanov 3. Yevtushenko & Petic 82kg: 1. Alirzaev 2. Luburic 3. Rikadze & Polivadov 97kg: 1. Savolainen 2. Melia 3. Saravi & Kaminski --------------------------------------------------- Team ranking: 1. Iran 122 2. Georgia 121 3. Russia 118
  15. Actually I won't be surprised if he wins the gold in Tokyo . he is one of the favorites for sure and deserved a bronze this year in Astana (and I believe he got robbed)
  16. First set of medals in Greco 55kg: 1. Ogawa 2. Sefershaev 3. Aliyev & Ozturk 63kg: 1. Delkhani 2. Kavjaradze 3. Valitov & Nehoda 77kg: 1. Opiev 2. Sakuraba 3. Akkoyun & Shadukayev 87kg: 1. Novikov 2. Khetsuriani 3. Maskevich & Gregorich 130kg: 1. Yousefi 2. Pataridze 3. Yildrim & Ovasapyan
  17. both Achab and Perez won the gold. worst case scenario not surprised, I knew it. now Hosseini has to win a medal in Moscow. most probably silver or gold to win the quota. and still nobody knows how and based on what UK denied him visa for the Worlds. it will be unfair if he ends up losing the quota only because of that.
  18. Taekwondo wasn't part of the European Games. so this is an EXTRA European Championship to make up for that in the World Ranking. in short this is not a real European Championship but a very important tournament for the World Ranking with 40pts up for grab for the gold medalists. and one can say if European Taekwondo Union can't or don't want to put taekwondo into the European Games maybe they don't deserve to have a Grade-4 tournament instead.
  19. I was expecting Sajan to make it to the final. but his poor defense in par terre cost him the final. he will be huge favorite for the bronze. not sure if you watched the 55kg IND/RUS but your wrestler was leading 12-9 until the last 20-30 seconds. he was very impressive in that match but still for winning the bronze he has to beat 2 very good wrestlers, I don't think that happens. for Sunil it will be even harder. from what I noticed, India is a very bad matchup for Russia ! even when Russia wins, they have to work really hard for that. Indian wrestlers are great in making their opponents tired but I can see all of your Greco wrestlers are weak in defending parterre and that will be costly against top wrestlers. 1 caution is enough for a Russian wrestler to beat you 8-0. unlike freestyle, parterre is VERY important in Greco. Sajan dominated the Japanese guy but when they gave him a passivity caution (which was dubious) the Japanese easily scored a 4pts throw. I mean really easily.
  20. all of those fake refugees lost in their first matches and it was funny this time Israel didn't show up against the Iranian athlete Achab winning the gold was the worst possible news, but 63kg is weak in Europe and it was expected. let's see what Perez can do tomorrow, if he reaches the final that will put Hosseini out of top 6 at 58, I think DellAquila secured his Olympic quota, in this weight, South Korea, Russia, Iran and Italy are safe.
  21. Qualified countries per new WKF Olympic ranking on 1 November Men Kata: 67kg: 75kg: +75kg: Women Kata: 55kg: 61kg: +61kg: Some major changes in continental qualifiers, and I'm sure we will see more in future. if it was today Thomas Scott could be the unluckiest ! he is 6th in the ranking (5th if we don't count Japan) and only 90pts behind Horuna of UKR, and despite winning the Pan-Am Games , still he can't qualify because first 2 continents will grab 2 available quota places in this weight. but still lots of things can change in future. almost the same goes to Alipour from Iran at 61kg, she is 5th in WR but still can't grab the Asian quota. Grande (Peru) winning the American quota is almost a sure thing, so if Alipour can't get in to top 4, her only chance is one of those Egyptian girls surpassing Morocco in the ranking which is very possible. and the European quota for women is also very close. Semeraro (ITA) and Plank (AUT) are both on 6th place, Italy has more points. Kalnins of Latvia put himself in a good position to qualify, he is now better than Gurbanli (AZE) but he has to pray for Kvesic and Horuna to qualify directly.
  22. every time I open the PDF drawsheet for a Taekwondo competition, I see another Iranian competing for somewhere else this time Ehsan Naghibzadeh for the refugee team !!! he even represented Iran in 2013 World Champs (and didn't medal) and two other guys I was already aware of, Ali Noghandoost and Amir Hosseini. and if we count Dina Pouryounes. there are 4 Iranians competing for "refugee team" only in the first day of the competition I wonder how many others are waiting for the next 2 days. I think if I start to count, there are something like 20 or maybe more Iranians representing other countries (or the refugee team) right now, and I'm not talking about people with Iranian heritage growing up in those countries. all of these guys raised in Iran and most (if not all) of them represented Iran at least in a Youth/Junior international competition. unbelievable ! and none of them are real "refugees" (they are lying opportunists) but if they are, Iran should be #1 country in term of "taekwondo athletes" right violation !! but this is disgusting WT is easily letting them to participate for the refugee team (some of them aren't refugees, not even on paper) and even sometimes steal medals from European athletes. but maybe this Naghibzadeh can do something good for his own country, if he beats Israel in the first round (it's funny, isn't it ?) he will face Achab (Belgium) in the second round, eliminating Achab will be a big favor to our 68kg Hosseini in the Olympic ranking. even though I don't think nowadays Naghibzadeh is any good but we will see.
  23. List of participating teams for Olympic qualifiers in each continent https://www.fivb.org/en/Volleyball/viewPressRelease.asp?No=89193&Language=en Europe: Africa: Asia: South America: North America:
  24. List of participating teams for Olympic qualifiers in each continent https://www.fivb.org/en/Volleyball/viewPressRelease.asp?No=89193&Language=en even though we knew most of them already but still good to know the list of teams in Africa and now FIVB confirms Pakistan withdrew in Asia, replaced by Kazakhstan Europe: Africa: Asia: South America: North America:
  25. Second medal day medalists 61kg: 1. Zholdoshbekov 2. Ravinder 3. Hayama & Takhtarov 74kg: 1. Zhamalov 2. Nokhodi 3. Sulava & Byambadorj 86kg: 1. Ghasempour 2. Magomedsaidov 3.
