  1. sure I will do that for Europe and Pan-America later today. (African wrestlers rarely participate outside of their continent, I don't know much about them) but keep in mind for obvious reasons I have much more information about the Asian wrestlers. but when it comes to Cuba for example they always surprise you by sending someone you didn't expect. but I will try
  2. but isn't this some sort of cheating ?! it's like changing the rules in middle of the competition. obviously some athletes will benefit from this and some will get hurt , and we don't know that yet but all of them went to the 2019 European Champs thinking this is the Olympic qualifier. the same goes to Asia if they want to have another one in 2020 before the Olympics. it will help some of our athletes but everybody knew 2019 is the Olympic qualification tournament. changing it will be unfair.
  3. surprised to see Zabih Poursheib among the medalists Iran was supposed to not send anybody to Chile, the other side of the world . but it seems 2-3 athletes went on their own. if it was Turkey we would see an army of Iranians but traveling to Chile is costly. it's impossible to be in shape for the whole year, I think it's a good idea to skip some of these Serie A events @phelps I was checking the ranking and in this link there is also a list of upcoming events http://setopen.sportdata.org/wkfranking/standing_tokyo2020.php I see a continental Championship is listed for Africa and Europe ! I'm sure those events weren't in the list the last time I checked. does it mean they will replace 2019 results for those continents ?!
  4. and here is a summary of what happened to the Asian wrestlers and what's my expectation for the Asian OQT. of course this is way too early. for example I have absolutely no idea who we are going to send at 65. but I'm sure whoever we send will be better than anybody else "on paper" as for Iran, I'm 100% confident about 125, at 97 we have something like 5 candidates, the only wrestler I'm worried about is Ibragimov (UZB) who is getting old but still dangerous. at 65 all top Asian wrestlers are already qualified, there is no big name remaining but we don't have a great wrestler in this weight. whoever we send will be the favorite but still nothing is guaranteed. but the weight I'm worried about more is 74kg. Abdurakhmanov beat our wrestlers so many times before and whoever we send will be underdog against him. beside him I think only the Indian representative can be dangerous (specially if they don't send Sushil Kumar) and I have to say, my predictions are based on their current strength. we always see Ex-Soviet countries somehow "hire" ex Russian wrestlers in Olympic year. for example Uzbekistan is very weak in some weights, they always can buy some Russian wrestlers and make themselves strong. 57 Qualified: Candidates: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 65 Qualified: Candidates: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 74 Qualified: Candidates: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 86 Qualified: Candidates: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) * this one is wide open, if that Lebanese guy continues to represent them. all those 5-6 guys are close to each other. the order I wrote is kind of random. 97 Qualified: Candidates: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 125 Qualified: Candidates: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5)
  5. Iran was supposed to send 3 cyclists to the World Champs including the first ever female cyclist. but UK simply denied visa for the entire team. this is the second time this year UK is hosting a WCh and denying visa for some countries. of course this one is not important because Iran is no big deal in cycling but imagine the reactions if it was Iran denying visa for somebody.
  6. That was disappointing. here everybody wanted to see Hassan winning the gold on the mat. Yazdani didn't wrestle more than 8 minutes in the entire competition !! but still this is his 5th medal and the 3rd gold. he needs 3 more to become the best Iranian wrestler ever. to me it's hard to believe the injury, but who knows. after all it was a good opportunity for the young Deepak to wrestle the Olympic Champion. his loss.
  7. I don't know. I never had any problem opening links with that website maybe you should try using a PC or laptop ( am I right ? you don't use any? ). you can open rar files with that too
  8. Lebanon forced Dominic Abounader (who is in fact American) to forfeit Israel, and now he wrote this in his twitter ban Lebanon. ban Lebanon. anybody want to say that ? I guess not. Lebanon is not an interesting topic. nor Algeria. nor 10-20 other countries with the same policy. https://twitter.com/termn8r13/status/1175477689957924866
  9. I have this one too but instead of emailing them to you I can give you a better option, check this http://www.ocagames.com/orb/game_edition.php?id_game_edition=1
  10. The Asian Volleyball Championship finished today in Tehran. after losing in the first round to Australia. Iran came back strongly to beat them 3-0 in the final. that's Iran's 3rd Asian title after 2011 and 2013. for some stupid reasons Iran didn't send A team to 2015 and 2017 editions. Final Ranking 1. Iran 2. Australia 3. Japan 4. South Korea 5. Chinese Taipei 6. China 7. Pakistan 8. India 9. Qatar 10. Kazakhstan 11. Thailand 12. Indonesia 13. Oman 14. Sri Lanka 15. Kuwait 16. Hong Kong * top 8 teams (top 9 excluding Japan) are qualified for the Asian Olympic Qualification tournament in China.
  11. whenever you think this is the limit for cheating, they found a way to show you , you are wrong. Deng of China got robbed of something like 11 points !!!! it should be 12-2 for Deng what's more disgusting is UWW commentators, at first they said what's the correct call and when the refs (or video panel) announced something else they said "oh yes this is the correct call, I was wrong in the first look"
  12. told you he is almost as good as Yazdani. also he is much better than Yazdani in gut wrench. one opportunity was enough for him btw, that was interesting bronze medal match between Kazakhstan vs France. they were about to rob the French wrestler because the takedown happened after the whistle but that challenge corrected the call. they can blame the ref for that whistle but the call was correct. and that's funny Kazakhstan got angry on the refs and their fans threw so many objects to the mat. seriously, Kazakhstan ?!
  13. Another gold for Russia and another Kazakh cheater got demolished in the final.
  14. He didn't last that against our second guy in this weight at the Asian Championships but then Ghasempour is almost as good as Yazdani. Yazdani had a close match with him in Iranian trials (I posted the video here). this is just our bad luck that we have 2 great wrestlers in the same weight (and one of them had to stay at home). while we had to send someone like Afzali at 74kg ! I don't think that's possible for Deepak to last that long but considering his age, he will improve and will be a bigger threat next time. but still I really thank him for beating Switzerland
  15. we had two heart breaking defeats at 79 and 97. seriously I was expecting more from Shabani. but then Yazdani destroying everybody made up for that. I think for 3 matches he wasn't on the mat for more than 6 minutes !! and Ehsanpour won a epic match 13-12. we are 2-1 against Russia so far. I hope Behnam makes it 3-1. I know they are much stronger but it always feel GOOD to beat them in head to head and please Deepak. beat Switzerland.
  16. quotas from repechage 74: 125: interestingly all 4 of them from Asia. all 4 of them had easy matches thanks to unbalanced draws. and this is interesting to see Syria in the list ! the guy raised in Russia (with Syrian heritage) and had a dream draw, but still
  17. Lebanon didn't show up against Israel. the wrestler born and raised in USA, obviously not his own decision. he was forced to. and I'm sure nobody cares about that. and nobody will say ban this. ban that. (that's just for one other country) and why not ?!, he didn't "hurt" anybody with this, except himself.
  18. that was very interesting and yes in fact he was the biggest surprise of the first freestyle day, I knew you can't underestimate India in lighter weights but still that was surprising (and I would be happy if he would stopped with the quota but unfortunately for us he beat our wrestler for the bronze ) his cardio was fantastic, he could beat Uguev if he had probably 30-40 more seconds. it will get harder for him because now other teams will start analyze him and make plans for him but that was his first World Seniors, he only can improve from here.
  19. Good to see I'm not the only one noticing it. I can say almost all of them received the best possible draw, except for 125kg. probably because that guy was very bad and could lose to anybody. I say the best "possible" draw because they had to face one of the top seeds before the QF, most of the time they are in the same quarter as the weakest seeded wrestler. or in some cases like 74kg. their wrestler are in the same quarter with Chamizo but that was a good thing because he will easily qualify for the Olympics tomorrow. I'm sure most people here don't believe such things but last year Hungary had dream draw in almost all of Greco events. now it's time for Kazakhstan. it can't be just "luck"
  20. Finally the last day 86: 1) I don't know how but this guy Erdin is always world #1 even though in reality he is nowhere close ! but at least that gave him a very easy draw. he is obviously the favorite from this quarter, and since he is also favorite for going to the final, the next best guy Friev from Spain has a good chance for the Olympic quota. 2) this quarter is even easier, the first round match between Deepak of India and Davlumbayev will be a decider, the only half good wrestler in this quarter is from Colombia ! I'm also curious about the Jamaican guy who grew up in US wrestling system. 3) once again our wrestler is in the toughest quarter, but only this time he is the "bad draw" for anybody. I think the only wrestler in the whole competition with a chance to beat Yazdani is Naifonov from Russia and they will meet each other in the QF if Naifonov survives Gostiyev. 4) this one is balanced, lots of good wrestlers but there is no huge favorite. it sounds like exaggeration but I think all 15 wrestlers in that quarter stand a chance more or less. Shabanov of BLR and the Cuban are my first picks but we also have Dudarov, Makoev even the American Dawney . the bad news is only one from this quarter will qualify for the Olympics. my picks: 97: 1) only 5 wrestlers here, we have a clear favorite, Kyle Snyder. he is not that unbeatable but I think he can handle all these guys. he most probably will qualify another wrestler with himself too. I think it will be between Saritov and Ibragimov. 2) if we consider Snyder and the Russian tank as tier 1. we have lots of tier 2 wrestlers in this quarter, making it the "toughest" quarter IMO, even though that's possible for the winner to upset Snyder in the semis but still Snyder will be the huge favorite, so these guys know most probably only one of them will qualify. we have 7 wrestlers here, KOR is alrady out. I also don't think there is a chance for Turkey (he is good though) , it will be close for the rest I want to have a bold prediction here and give it to Iran. 3) once again Kazakhstan is in the easier quarter ?! surprise ! but I think despite being in the easiest part, the Kazakh is not the favorite. even though there is a chance for everybody but I think it will be between MGL and KAZ, with KGZ being 3rd behind them. 4) Sadullaev no question , the only question is who is going to win the repechage ? I think it will be between Ceban and Nurov. my picks:
  21. well it happens when you are in the final when you don't belong there. 11-0 quick win for Rashidov. and someone threw a tennis ball to the mat !!! never saw such a things
  22. oh I see to be honest I never want such things even if that benefits our athletes. I know wrestling is a tough sport. these wrestlers try really hard to be here and when some soul-less referees easily rob them that always feels terrible for me as a fan. I always think how these guys "sleep well" when they know they ruined someone's life so easily. how come they don't feel bad about themselves ?! most of officiating mistakes here aren't "mistake" they are cheating. I'm OK with 50/50 calls going in favor of the host, but some of them weren't even 90/10. but 100% obvious calls.
  23. I'm sure you got that by "that guy" I mean the Israeli . India/Kazakhstan won't face Israel unless in the semifinal (where he already won the quota) you have to beat the Turk (to not let Israel gets another chance in the repechage) and then I don't care if Kazakh luckily steals another quota. I will write in details later as usual but I think we have 4 candidates in top half. TUR, IND, KAZ and ESP. I just hope 3 of them win the quota
  24. I'm sure they have no problem beating Israelis for Deepak his first round is his real medal match. I hope he wins and then he beats the Turk (who beat Israel before) to eliminate the Israeli (I know I'm thinking too much) plz don't let that guy winning the quota. this is the only weight we count on the gold
  25. the guy is actually not that bad, he beat South Korea here. he is from Romania. Emami will be huge favorite for bronze but it won't be very easy.
