  1. News from Russian athletics. 400m runner Maxsim Dyldin loses all his results from August 5, 2012 to May 22, 2015. Means the Russian 4 x400 team will be disqualified from the 2013 World Championships, 2013 Universiade and 2014 European Championships. Kirill Ikonnikov results lost from August 5, 2012 to October 8, 2016 (though 2 years in the middle of that time were already lost due to another doping case) Dyldin 4 year ban from January 2017 Ikonnikov 8 year ban from April 2016 http://rusathletics.info/87783

  6. So there will be a decision on 6 Russian cross country skiers who competed in Sochi after a hearing next month. Some of you may already know they are... I won't mention names here but if they are found guilty only one Russian medal will remain from the sport in Sochi
  7. Mohammed Hadid. the father of supermodel Gigi Hadid, attempted to represent Jordan in the demonstration sport of speed skiing in 1992. Despite what it is claimed on the internet he did not compete
  8. I would be shocked if they were suspended. They might lose a medal from the tournament but the national team won't be punished and the players won't be banned
  9. So 95 out of 96 are cleared. If this is a random sample then it is very bad news for WADA. However my guess is the cases completed so far are the ones that appear in the McLaren report but have almost no evidence to support them. They look at the weak cases first, get rid of them then move on to more serious cases. Still over 1000 left. The worst possibility for Russia is if WADA can prove the evidence once existed but has now has been destroyed. If you can't punish a dirty athlete then you have to punish the whole federation if it helps them to cheat
  10. If USA and Canada both qualify teams at the World Championships in eventing things get very complicated. There are 550 riders in the North American rankings. All USA or Canada. Mexico is in the Central/South Zone
  11. British aerials skier Lloyd Wallace is in a coma after suffering a head injury in training today. He finished in the top 20 at the last World Championships
  12. To be honest. It's more than the MPCC is deliberately underestimating cycling cases to make other sports look bad
  13. Very interesting. Runner of Nigerian heritage passes to runner of Iranian/Moroccan ancestry to white English to runner of Jamaican ancestry and they win gold. All the racists in Britain went silent.
  14. I think Shubenkov may well be disqualified and the Serbian awarded a place in the semi-finals. Arm swung out of lane and interfered with the Serb

  18. I'm sure they will change the rules to allow her to compete. And maybe the Brazilian will also be allowed to race (as the best South American) - making a maximum of 6
  19. Has Henriques definitely been confirmed as an entrant? Her qualifying time was set in a race that wasn't approved as a qualifying competition so the IAAF would have to change the rules to get her in.
  20. There is also a doubt whether Henriques' time is acceptable
