  1. It's not very obvious. But on my Discovery+ Timetable page I can see two different streams for this morning's Alpine training. If you click on both, one of them is labelled.... Ultra High Definition coverage from Bormio as the world's fastest skiers reacquaint themselves with the iconic Stelvio slope ahead of the Men's Downhill on Saturday. ⁦⁨4K UHD, HDR, and Dolby Atmos availability depends on plan and device.⁩⁩ And for tonight's curling, there are two streams for the Britain / Norway curling, with the same thing. (The other curling matches have just one stream each)
  2. And in fact going further into it what we have on UHD in the pre-Games slot Alpine downhill training One featured curling match per session One ice hockey game per time slot And then once the games start, not everything, but at least several UHD transmission per day.
  3. Here's the Official Olympics Page - as you can see, both & are on the TBC list Where to Watch the Olympic Games Live | Milano Cortina 2026
  4. Seems I was wrong on that, Discovery etc has a separate UHD stream for the Alpine training tomorrow.
  5. Exactly, it encourages other cities from the bidding nation to support the bid.
  6. Sounds to me that she will start, but I'm betting she either pulls up in the Downhill or just coasts down. But at least she will be able to say that she has done it. Lindsey Vonn has ruptured ACL but will compete at Winter Olympics - BBC Sport
  7. Discovery+ in the UK have also got their schedule up now. I notice that only thing listed as being in UHD is the Opening Ceremony though....
  8. The problem over the last few years was that no-one was able to keep pace with the big Katie Archibald turns. Looks to be sorted now.
  9. Yup, checked their website. 3/3 cases rejected and they have all been staying in the Milan Hilton for a week! Home - Tribunal Arbitral du Sport / Court of Arbitration for Sport
  10. They have literally done this with every single case! Bolshunov in CC, Ireland in Luge & now this. Nice work for the Hilton Hotel, Milan.
  11. Think for the relay teams can call up a replacement. One of the people from the European Cup yesterday will get lucky.
  12. lower the WR to 4.02:808 in the final. That would have been the men's WR between 1993-1996.
  13. Konya is kind of at altitude - about 1000m, so about the same as those athletic tracks in Switzerland and France where people go to get their qual times.
  14. Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly. I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
  15. Big shock as beat the all-conquering Men's Team Sprint team in the Heats!
  16. Even when had two Gold Medallists in 1976 & 1980 the BBC did not show it. Just highlights of our own competitors. I don't think there were even spectators - they certainly would not have been able to see anything, because only the judges had the right angle to see what was happening. Very detailed article on wiki about it. They suggest that the dominance of young skaters is only possible because figures took years to master . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compulsory_figures?wprov=sfla1
  17. It was, but it was a really really boring element. Every competitor would have to go up in front of the judges and do the same routine over and over. No music. Took a couple of days. Kind of like ice dressage.
  18. Engineering news. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/ice-hockey/articles/cq6vdpnelvzo
  19. Prevc outjumps the hill! 155m hill record & just about as far as you can go without killing yourself.
  20. So get a narrow win in the European Champs Women's Pursuit with a First to Fifth clean sweep. Believe it is possible to bring in athletes for the Olympic relay so the First Team better be on their toes in Week 1.
  21. European Championships start in this weekend. Timing here https://2026.uec.swisstiming.com/2026/ctreuropean/schedule?style=uci
  22. Just a reminder, in case you don't know that CAS is in emergency pre- Games session for cases like these.
  23. Next big indoor meet is the Millrose Games in NYC Saturday Night. Preview. Looks pretty good. https://worldathletics.org/news/preview/millrose-games-new-york-2026
  24. Bolshunov's last ditch bid to be admitted to the Games as a neutral has failed on a bureaucratic technicality. Bolshunov's CAS appeal against Olympic ban fails on technicality
